Was Great at first

My daughter purchased this laptop for college 2 yrs ago and it worked GREAT for almost a year, then started having problems with the battery not staying charged and the fan started and still is making a horrible noise. Hate to put too much money into repairing something when can buy another laptop for less than what the repairs cost. Recently she had to buy a new power cord due to the computer not powering up. She will need to purchase a new laptop at some point and I'm sure she will be looking at another brand.

Repeat of others complaints

I also have a problem with the touch pad moving the cursor and or deleting things I'm working on. I bought an refurbed HP 17'' and it's SO MUCH nicer than the This one. This one is just OK, but the HP is awesome and not much more. The quality of the HP is outstanding and much faster, that I sold the Acer.

Bad Product

Bought new, but only lasted 8 months before it started having battery and fan problems. Still under warranty..had to pay for shipping to Texas to get it repaired. It's been 10 days and they still have not fixed it because they are still waiting for a part.... I should have stayed with Dell Computers. We have two Dell laptops and they are still working fine over the past two years. I will never buy an Acer product again.

At the time it was the best product for the money

I really like this computer. It's too bad Acer does not always stand by their promotions and forget about getting answers back from Acer too. It's a good think this is a good product and support from them isn't needed.

Great except for one thing

It is wonderful except I always seem to hit the touchpad or something which causes to open a new window or worse delete a long email or document I was working on. Is it because I am not used to a lapttop? It is a longer than most laptops also which is bad for taking it places, but it works excellently and I love the number keypad! Overall I give it a 9!!
