Very average TV

The TV is very average as it is edge lit meaning the corners are brighter than the rest of the panel. The lighting across the lcd is inconsistent also. The TV is 1080p 120hz and 4k 60hz when you enable memc. Oddly the TV info on screen still indicates that it is running 4k 30hz and 1080p 60hz so its a bit confusing. As for getting 4k content to the tv the best cheap solution I came up with was an Nvidia 750ti which is more than capable of pushing 4k video (not gaming) installed in a media center pc. This gets you youtube 4k and any video you stumble upon on the internet. All and all unless you just have to have a cheap 4k TV now or your 1080p set is broken and looking for the cheapest possible 4k tv with decent features then you should probably should just go with a bigger higher quality 1080p 120hz tv.

meh

Personally I cannot common on the turner part, and I don't really care who the maker is, rather it's a smart TV or not. I picked up this TV as my 5th monitor for marketing display and research. No, it is not false advertisement, it's a classic marketing strategy, yes this TV does have 120Hz capability, and they just didn't tell you what resolution that 120Hz is set on. With 4k 3840x2160 your max is set to 60Hz at max. There are a VERY few video cards out there that's capable pushing 4k to begin with so do some research on that. You are buying a 50in 4k TV that's 500 regular price while most 4K TVs are 900 and up on sale. Also before criticizing how bad the TV is or as a monitor and such, make sure your input is actually capable to push that resolution and your source is actually 4K content. This is not my main monitor or I'd hurt my neck and my chiropractor would be very happy. Turn the brightness down a little, it'll be a little easy on your eye ball.

Still a good value despite....

Even my cheapo Westinghouse LED TV had a QAM tuner that could get unscrambled FIOS channels such as the local channels but this TV does not so I have to get the programming thru a DVD streaming player or STB. Picture is decent though.

Great 4k Display

Best picture in a TV that I have ever owned. This is not a smart TV but who cares. My only complaint was the fuzzy display of some 720 or 480 feeds from track cams at Watkins Glen. Set up was very easy and Scepter quality is superior.
