Dying as I type this...
Had it for just over 2 years and yesterday my desktop wouldn't boot and HDD not recognized by BIOS. Decided it wanted to work today, after buying a new HDD. It's slaved into my system and I'm getting the data off now, but somehow I can hear the HDD's moans of torturous dying with every byte that's imaged off of it. Get what you pay for I suppose...

good.... then failed
As many people before me have mentioned, the drive works great, then all of a sudden fails. I was using it for Windows 7, so i didn't keep anything important on it (thankfully). I'm sending it to seagate for a replacement. Hopefully the replacement will have the updated firmware on it, and will survive for years!

Beware of these drives. Bought two... One is fine the other was DOA. Tiger immediately replaced the drive but who needs the headaches.
