D-Link DI-604 10/100 Mbps 4-Port Router

This is a very good Router. Low cost and no exrea work involved. perfect for the beginner. I have tried 3 different wireless routers and am not amused either at the set up process or at the signal strength. They (wireless) are not as secure as a wired unit as well. Something to think about. Would buy another in a heartbeat.

I had no trouble hooking up and getting connected, instrutions were very easy to understand. All I did was plug it in and I was connected!!! Thanks D-Link!!!

Yea... This model has been around for awhile. (I have the older case style, good for vertical mounting.) Mine is 3 years old. Has existed most of it's life in a garage networking cabinet. Have'nt had any problems that I'm aware of. Sends an audio stream 24/7 on a 200' cat5 run. If you're building a wired network, this is a reliable & economical router.

I bought this router (a recertified unit) about a year ago and it has worked perfectly. I haven't needed any kind of tech support at all so I can't comment on that. It was a steal for $23.00!

I bought this router as a networking newb 3 months ago. It was very easy to install, step-by-step installation and instructions should make it ideal for anyone who is new to networking and is not familiar with the technology and terminology. It hasn't given me any problems so far. I've never had any firewall problems with this either; All 4 computers connected to this router run file-sharing software, and never have I encountered a problem related to that (most routers will require some form of port forwarding, but not this). A highly recommended buy! As far as I understand, my next router (wireless) will also be a D-link, as I will be setting up a W-Lan in my house soon.
