This board is a work horse. It was easy to set up and get going. It has just about everything you could ask for. The only thing I couldn't find is an audio port for the the cd/dvd audio. Running audio through the IDE connector is not as flexable/controlable as the board connection.

This motherboard was an excellent buy for me. I bought it alongside a pentium d 950 (3.4GHz) processor. I loaded it with 2Gb of OCZ RAM, and an EVGA GeForce 6800XT 256 Mb Graphic card, and it rocks. I had no compatibility issues. Also this motherboard comes with a cool utility that allows you to see temperature specs, fan speed, and other things of that nature that you can access while windows is running. In addition to that the intel website offers other handy tools to control fan speed and other tweaks still while window is running.

This was a bew build. The MB is great but you really need to remember to update the BIOS and if you gonna run win2000, put that SP4 right away. Ok, I added a pentium D 3gig (930) cpu and it saw it right away. It has 3 temp sensors in it which is important because pentium D's run a bit HOT. The biggest reason to pick this MB is the on board audio. Its a good set that I am using for HTPC, which includes both optical and coax digital-out. The dual pci-e slots are not the best choice for cross fire or SLI because the 2nd slot is only 4x, not 16x. It claims to be on a 16x bus so its hard to say how critical it is. One big concern is CPU support. Will it boot with the stock BIOS even if your CPU requires a higher BIOS level per the INTEL Web site? Yes it will. Put in a CPU from the list at Intel website, Hit F2 to get in and update the bios off a floppy is the most you will have to do.

I was a GigaByte customer for years until their bad capacitor problem left me without a motherboard even though it was still under warranty. I decided to finally move over to Intel. I could not believe what this board had! I had to go back and reread things a few times to make sure I was seeing things correctly. With the exception of SLI this board kicks ass. I could not be happier with the quality and the features of this board. I think they felt that if a technology was out at the time, this board needed to have it. Nvidia SLI is out but I heard people are using it with ATI’s Cross Fire with out problems. Must be an Nvidia thing I guess. But 5 out of 5 stars for me. Was easy to build, and as usual, everything was compatible. Great driver set, and the OS load went off without a hitch. What more could you ask for in a new loaded system board. Intel has me as a customer now. (Pentium D 850, Quad 400GB Seagate SATA, ATI AIW X1900, Creative Xi-Fi Plat, Corsair XMS2 2GB mem)

As always Intel ROCKS. User friendly & very stable. I was not happy when I could not run my dual Nvidia's…. But I went with 2 ATI 1800’s W 256 Meg of DDR3 & OMG. This system is the fastest thing I have ever seen. It has a rock solid driver base…. No problems on load & no BSOD like ya get with some of the other boards. I’ve got a 3.4 clocked to a 3.6 & it rules. I’m running a cooler master hyper 48 with a Ultra Black Aluminus ATX Mid-Tower Case & 2 gig of Geil 667 DDR2. 2 WD Raptors 10,000 rpm & 2 SCSI Seagate Cheeta's 15,000 rpm Both sets of drive in Raid 0. No heat issues at all. The hottest I’ve seen the processor get is about 110 deg. Talk about getting the best bang for you buck. I’ll be using this board or the 975XBX until Intel comes up with something better....VERY Happy customer
