National Cristina Foundation (NCF) provides computer technology and solutions to give people with disabilities, students at risk and economically disadvantaged persons the opportunity, through training, to lead more independent and productive lives.

Every day, across America and around the world, National Cristina Foundation is working to ensure that used computer technology resources that no longer meet an enterprise's or an individual's needs are given a second productive life as a tool for developing human potential.

You have the power to increase the untapped potential of people who have special needs. National Cristina Foundation accepts donations from individuals and corporations alike.

NCF's goal resonates in its public awareness message, "Machines you can write off. People you can't." Join us in helping to realize this goal!

Here are a few more links to help you safely recycle your older computer and consumer electronic products.

Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC) - This grassroots coalition engages in research and advocacy to help find solutions to e-waste concerns. SVTC helped found, and works with, the Computer Take Back Campaign. The Computer Take Back Campaign promotes corporate accountability for electronic waste and publishes a list of companies that provide responsible recycling programs for computers and electronics.

Earth 911 - A nonprofit organization with detailed listings of reuse and recycling centers specializing in computers and electronics. By entering your ZIP code on the site you can find your nearest electronics recycling event/location.

myGreenElectronics - Local ewaste collection sites.

MRMrecycling - Local ewaste collection sites.

Electronics TakeBack Coalition - Chart of ewaste laws & pending legislation.

Recycle Indiana - Before recycling or donating electronics, it is important that you remove all personal and/or confidential information. Simply deleting files will not remove them from your device. Free data destruction software can be found online. If you are not able to do this yourself, many retailers offer this service for a small fee, and many manufacturers provide information on how to “wipe” their devices on their websites.

State of Pennsylvania Electronics Recycling Program - Before taking any electronics to collection points or drop-off locations, consumers should first contact that location to see what types of electronics they accept. Not all locations may accept all items, such as TVs.

Service and Price.
I'm a first time buyer and will definitely use TigerDirect again. I did not ask for next service but that's what I got. I ordered on Wednesday and it arrived on Thursday! The packaging was very secure. I bought the computer as a travel computer - sort of a cheap alternative to my main work laptop. The reconditioned computer from TIGERDIRECT exceeded my expectations.
