Great replacement MB. Replaced my Fry's bundle ECS 848P-A that would NEVER initialize the video properly. Only two hours to replace, boot and configure. SATA works right off the bat (no need for drivers, BTW who uses floppy's ???) if one setups it up in BIOS (mentioned by previous reviews), and eventhough an older SATA150, it screams. Loved to boot from CD-ROM option when installing OS. Only compliant would be that user has to choose either front panel audio output or from back, not both.

I was disappointed with MSI, they don’t include the SATA drivers on floppy. So if your running SATA hard drives you’re going to need to go online and download the drivers, which can be a pain when your comp is broke. Board was easy to install and now functions great. But MSI by trying to save $0.25 on a floppy turned a 2-3 hour job into 2 two day swearing contest.

There is a reason that the factory only gives this board one year of warrantee while many others back theirs with 3 years. Mine lasted just about 14 months before it died. Otherwise, it is a good board with reasonable abilities.

Great board. Everything went real easy. Had better instructions than my last board and was easier to connect all the peripherals. One mistake I made was that I took the 24 pin connector apart, plugged the 20 pin connector into the mobo and then took the 4 pin plug that was left over and plugged that into the 4 pin plug on the mobo. Didn't work. My PSU had another 4 pin connector and when I plugged that in, it fired up. Also, the previous reviewers were right. You have to go into ''integrated peripherals/Via onchip IDE Device/ Enable''. Then change the SATA mode from Raid to IDE. It also kept telling me that my floppy disk failed. I don't have one hooked up so I just disabled that in the Advanced BIOS.

Board was bad out of the box. Tiger replaced with another then it appeared the CPU was bad. By the time I could verify that the CPU was good and the replacement board was bad, Tiger would not exchange again or replace with something else. I've submitted MSI's warranty request at least 3 times and never gotten any kind of reply and I have no idea how else to reach them. I'd have preferred to flush my 50 bucks down the toilet so I at least knew where it went.

I bought this product two months ago and decided to write this review after a good burn-in period.
Quite frankly, this was a truly a value for money combo. The installation into a new case, fitting all connections,CPU, Cooler fan etc was a breeze. I was not disappointed with the speed of the CPU and went for a 1 GiG memory chip so I can upgrade later. The only thing to be aware of and that is if you change out your hard drive to a new motherboard and you are running XP you will need to reload XP and get a new number from Microsoft. I am sure there is an easier way to do it but I learned the hard way.
I am very, very pleased though with all the products that I purchased without question. David J Brown. ukoilman@gmail.com

Exceptional value: absolutely stable running P4 at 3.2 gHz, cool running, quite fast, super low cost. I mounted the board in an Antec Aria Micro ATX cube type case and prayed the CPU would not melt down. But, CPU stays under 120F with a Cooler Master copper heat sink and CPU fan at 3K RPM. It's so fast that loading up MS Word is almost like flipping a light switch- click the mouse and it's loaded. Highly recommended.

Board came as part of a kit. Assembled easily. Powered up as expected. Running with Celeron D 3.93G, 512M, 20G IDE drive, 80G Sata drive, Windows 2KSP4. All appears normal. First kit I've assembled.
The Northbridge chip, the VIA P4M800 is running about 57-58c, VIA website says their Northbridge chips should be run at 55c or less, so I guess this is pretty close. Doesn't seem to move much with load. MSI tech support told me it was okay as long it doesn't get over 60c.

I like this board a lot. Easy to work with, great features, supports a P4 up to 3.4 ghz. I'm not wild about imbedded audio/video, but it also gives you an AGP port for your own video card and the audio is better than my SoundBlaster on my Dell. USB 2.0 and what more could you ask for for under $50.00 I'm buying another one.

Cons: BIOS doesn't have useful help docs, board manual describes different version of BIOS than what's installed. Just be very careful changing any settings.

MSI Makes a very good product from Graphic Cards to Motherboards at a medium price range. I'm pleased so far with this board. Lots of bang for the buck!
I didn't give it 5 stars because of a couple buggy boot-up problems. The BIOS is touchy and works best using the default settings. If you need to disable the SATA do so after defaulting it. I still get a ROM message at boot up now and them but can't seem to read it as it goes by to fast and it doesn't seem to impact performance.
I checked for an update from MSI, none was available. The memory slots are very tight, this makes seating the stick critical or you won't get it to boot up either. If it doesn't boot the first time take the sticks out and install them. The USB 2.0 drivers are dependent on XP SP1 being installed.
Overall good value for the money and once you get it setup, it seems to blaze!

IT IS MSI, what do you think. I have never had a problem with any MSI product, and this is no exception. The only inconveince, hence the no fifth star, is where the floppy is at, it comes with plenty of cable, but at the bottom?? Some one had a brain fart, oh well, still a great board

Used this board to replace a blown amd athalon xp motherboard/cpu in a compaq 5200cl. During the windows xp home recovery install, it hiccuped on the 4 in 1 usb drivers--but it was a simple matter of ignoring the errors until windows started and running the motherboard driver installers. Hardware install took less than 15 minutes. The only reason the board didn't get a 5 rating was the floppy connector is in an odd location--on the outside of the expansion slots, which forces you to go over/around the expansion cards (needs a long cable or no expansion cards).
