Great product for the price. Good construction. Negatives - would be nice if it only had one cord instead of wasting two slots on my motherboard. Also I have not been able to get this to install at USB 2.0 speed in Windows 7 so it is running at a slower data transfer rate than desired. Overall, I am happy with the product though.

Easy to install and works perfectly. Strongly recommend.

This item was quick and easy to use. Gave me the expansion that i needed and worked great.

This USB front panel patch comes with two cables, one for connecting to Motherboard USB pinouts, the second for connecting to back panel USB jacks and running them to the front panel. I am using it as the latter. Switching cables was not too hard. The supplied cable is a tad shorter than I would like (I have a deep tower case), but it works. Construction quality of the device is good enough. There is also room and mounting flanges for a 3.5

Easy to install, worked as desired.

I used it to replace the defective USB socket on the PC case front. Delivery was prompt and the device worked just as stated. Installation was quick and easy. It would have been nice to include audio plugs but the USB was the most important.

REVIEW BY: BKB Reviewed  Oct 03, 2010
The device installed easily and works fine. The only problem is that, being black, it is hard to see insertion point for the thumb drive (or whatever you want to insert)because the tower is under our desk.

It literally took seconds to install this unit in an older computer with a new motherboard. Great for transferring pictures, using a joystick or charging ipod.

Needs at least 2 more ports to earn it space ! Works great !

I need this with audio as well. For my headset. Do they make one?

This is a good looking, Quality Part, at a good price. I like that it includes 2 sets of cables,a Regular USB to plug in a rear USB port and 5 pin header for your mobo.I inserted a 3.5 card reader and it was a little tight.I don't know if this was because of the panel or the 3.5 reader. I fixed this by gently shaving the edges of the card reader. This setup looks real good in my new case, it is very convenient and works great. I highly recommend this device.

Good product!

I purchased the product to have front USB ports on an older computer that only has rear ports. The product fit in the case without any problems. The one issue I ran in to was that the connection to the motherboard was wired in a block that was for most motherboards but not mine. I made it work but if your motherboard is not pinned out as this product expects the installation will not work. I removed the block and added separate pin connections for my motherboard. The front ports are working so I am satisfied.

I have an ancient case that I refuse to give up. It is built like a tank and has served me well for nearly a decade. The only problem is that it lacks some of the more up to date features like front panel usb connectors. This little device fills the bill perfectly, mounted with a floppy drive. It serves well and looks good. Had some trouble getting it installed as I am a left arm amputee. However, 2 hands would have mode the job simple. I find that I use this addition constantly and it shows no wear after a year of use. One of my more useful additions.

Got this to be able to use the unused USB headers on my mobo and also wanted more front panel ports. Does the job without any problems. Well built, as said by others, includes cables that will allow you to determine where the front panel ports are being fed from. Only thing that could have made it better would have been different colored bezels to fit individual situations. All in all, a great product!

The design of this product was very well thought-out. Providing mounts for an additional 3.5 in hard drive and the alternate bezel for a floppy drive or internal card reader is an added plus. The provided cables plug into and function correctly with the on-board USB headers on the ASUS P5PE-VM motherboard.

Very handy for adding front USB ports. Easy to install, works great. You also don't have to reach around the back of the case to access a USB port.

Appreciated having two cable connection sets so I could use the one I needed

All I wanted to do was add some USB ports. I have a Lian Li case where they're on the floor. This got the job done. Nice because you can connect it to internal or external USB, and you can mount another 3.5" device. Vaguely thinking of digging out my old Zip 250 now.

This is a good product that does what is supposed to do. I got this to move my older USB higher on my case. Not only did this update my system to 2.0, but it put the ports closer to where I needed them. Good product..only wish there were more ports.

REVIEW BY: Paul Reviewed  Apr 11, 2009
It does what it does, not the best quality but it works. I ended up not even using it. This is bacisally a useless product if you already have front usb and a floppy drive, theres really no need for it for most people.

REVIEW BY: osgeld Reviewed  Mar 21, 2009
it adds 2 front usb ports to a 5.25 inch bay but the bonus features are really nice, theres a faceplate so you can have front access to the 3.5 slot, more screws than you would ever need AND theirs 2 sets of USB cables 1 goes from a motherboard header to 2x female, the other is 2 male to 2 female, just in case you have no more internal headers and simply want to move 2 jacks to the front, just replace the cable, use the included slot cover and your good (or you just have a couple 3ft long extension cables) I am quite happy with this product

It's a way better deal than the info suggests. It also includes and open 3.5'' front bay panel that really should be shown in the pix. I used the open panel and mounted my 3.5'' camera card reader in it. This way it makes one killer I/O front panel. Those that wrote negative reviews must not have have one, it's wonderful and I will be getting one for my wife's computer soon.

This is a great piece of equipment. Solidly built, heavy metal, all the screws you need and some extra. Easy to install, and what you get for the money is exceptional. Buy it if you want front USB ports. I did and am very happy.

REVIEW BY: Jerry Reviewed  Mar 28, 2008
This equipment works fine and looks OK. The spare front panel with the hole for a floppy drive and the extra cable that allows the unit to connect to regular USB connectors were unexpected bonuses. I see nothing crude about it and don't understand another reviewer's comment about ''...built in the garage of a junk collector...''. So the connector to the MB header is not molded - big deal!

REVIEW BY: Ralphy Reviewed  Jan 26, 2008
Reasonable front panel USB. 3.5'' hole nice since my case had an odd 3.5'' panel. Lots of writing on the display side, but to be fair it is shown in the pic above. Connector to USB headers rather large / crude, but not ridiculous.

REVIEW BY: mushroom Reviewed  Oct 02, 2007
I really like this. My PC only had rear access for the USB connectors. Extending it to the front saves a lot of aggravation. I like the extra 3.5'' bay, too. Reasonable price, well thought out design, straight-forward installation, trouble free, what's not to like?

This is the worst piece of equipment I have ever bought. It was built in the garage of a junk collector that knew nothing of electronics
