What a great purchase. Picked this up on sale and have had it now for a good amount of time. No problems in connecting it, or in the use of it. Have loaded it almost half full and works great

Great Product

Plug it in and it's ready to go. Love it.

Works like a charm

I bought it, plugged it in, formatted it, and now it works like I expected with my Telus PVR and should do the same with a Bell PVR.

Working then nothing.

I've had this drive for just over 2 months and then all of a sudden it stopped working. I had over 80hours of programming work I had been saving on it to only have it gone in the wind. The drive now makes some weird buzzing sound and need I say only 2 months old. I've had a WD for over 4 years and It's held up against everything. Very disapointed right now. Lost over 750gb of information.

Everything I need

I've had this unit going a few weeks. So far it has worked flawlessly. The only complaint I would have is that the power source is the cheapest wire on the planet. If for some reason you do plan to travel with this unit or move it for any other reason then I would strongly suggest upgrading the power source. The stock usb cable is pretty skimpy as well but I expected that. The unit itself has shown no problems at all. I use it in my home studio and though it would probably be quiet enough to run while recording I switch it off which is nice and easy with the power switch on the back. If you just need extra storage that is going to sit on the desk then I can't imagine a better value than this one.

Good drive but I have some issues

I'm having issues connecting with ESATA. When I plug it in it locks my computer, does the same if I unplug it. If I boot while it's connected I'm fine. So I'm just using the USB which is slower but works well for me. Good drive but I downgraded a little for the ESATA problem that I'm having.

Works great so far!

I received it in three days. Also ordered an esata to esata cable to go with it. Much faster than USB 2. Plugged it into main computer and portioned it into 4 and now moved from one computer to the next to do backups with Macruim Reflect Free. Would have been nice if esata cable had come with it.

Always Easy

This is the third product that I have purchased through them here. I have always found the service to be quick and efficient. The product, this product, is the second external HDD that I have bought from here. I bought this one for a friend as he didn't know too much about this technology and asked me what I would do with storage restrictions on his computer. I suggested this and installed it for him...he doesn't know how happy he is yet, but as he is a photog, he needs lots of extra storage, so in time he will come to appreciate it more. The price was great and the easy of purchase made it really simple. The product itself is incredibly easy to install and requires no maintenance, as it is only used when needed...just plug and play!

Purchased as a Gift

This unit was purchased as a gift for my son's roommate, so I don't know how it has been performing. But I heard he was very happy with it to date.

I have used and personally have 3 of these at home office, and 5 at my sites they are fast and have never had 1 quit on me... awesome drives!
