Great PC, awful OS

Windows 8 is a disaster and is miserable to use and I resent Microsoft for forcing it upon consumers who were perfectly fine with the excellent operating system that was Windows 7. That being said, this PC is fantastic. Quiet, and compact, you can stuff it wherever you want and forget about it. Performance is great, runs all my current gen games on Ultra(1920x1280 resolution) with zero frame stutter whatsoever. I have zero complaints with this PC thus far, and when I snagged it on sale for a few dollars over 1,000$, was a total steal! Only dislike is the mouse and keyboard. They're rather basic and feel cheap, but do the job just fine. Otherwise, I highly recommend this PC

What has happened to Alienware?

Really, a 330W Power Supply? What Genius decided that was a good idea? Not adequate to run the Video Card properly when the computer is under hard load. Alienware is a sickeninly weak shadow of it's former self. I guess that is what happens when you sell out, and the cost-cutting measures start to affect your production. It's all very sad, really............ :(

Great computer, and very quiet!

Replaced a 4 year old home-built computer. The power supply fan is so quiet you cannot tell it is even running. The only critiques, like any Dell product not much in the way of upgradability. Also would have preferred a windows 7 version but it actually costs more!!!

Tiny, Quiet, Fast

The x51 is a really fast little machine from bootup to shut down. Ive run it through metro last light, tomb raider, bioshock infinite, crysis 3 and battlefield 3 and it is able to max all of them out with only performance suffering a bit in tomb raider and crysis 3. I think that comes from the locked cpu and limited GPU memory at 1.5gb. The gpu is overclockable however the BIOS doesnt allow for any tweaking as it is shipped without modifications to the BIOS itself. The system stays cool enough (under anyones acceptable limits) under load and through idling processes. AlienFX is an interesting feature that comes along with the system. Overall its a solid system ESPECIALLY for those who dont have the time to build one much like myself. When i purchased it, i got it for about one hundred less and i couldnt see myself pricing components out and building it for much cheaper than it was, so for me it was an A+ purchase.

Excellent Buy!

Bought this one to replace a four year old Gateway desktop, tow weeks in and so far completely satisfied! Fast operation, lots of storage, extra memory, two DVI ports, small case, and very quiet. Not crazy about Windows 8, but addressed that with a quick download of Classic Shell.

This sucker huns with a small footprint

Works really well, ubelievably fast, sets up easy, lots of ports, very small footprint. Only complaint is that the power supply is too big (but it does not get hot). Other than that, operates better than advertised.

It just works

The X51 is exactly what I wanted; it has the oomph to run the productivity programs I need to get some work done from home, with enough bells and whistles to run games after hours. After ten days of use I can report no hardware problems and the machine is speedy to boot up and start programs. The only minor ding I give it is for the fan, it has this tendency to hum in various frequencies that I find annoying. Up, down, up, down... Yeah, yeah, I know it is just doing its job, but the noise is just the wrong level to distract me, so take this complaint with a grain of salt. Overall this PC is solid and I would recommend it to other people who need to get work done but just aren't ready to let go of their games.
