Great Product

Received the unit very quickly and was impressed with the features of the unit as well as the overall quality. The unit allows you to do just about anything and the cameras have a metal case which should make them more durable outdoors. Had it up and running within a few days.

Good Product and service

The cable is dead on arrival. I emailed zmodo support. After verified my purchase, they mailed me a replacement rightaway. It is missing some features in software. For example, it does motion detect on one cam only instead of individual cam. Otherwise, it satisfied my need.

Great product

I was impressed with the quality and value of this item. I don't believe there is a better value for a basic security system anywhere.

Great for the price

For 99$ you cant go wrong, the system works fine for my needs. Easy set up & operation, Surprising quality of the image resolution but its only at a limited distance.

System Works

I installed a 1 gig SATA drive in the DVR and it records. I then opened up the suggested ports on my router and can review the camera feeds remotely over the internet. I also used the mobile app for android and I can see live feed over my cell phone. For the money I was amazed. There are two additional camera ports on the DVR and I intend to buy at least one PTZ camera for the set. The camera quality is low but they work well even in the dark and far better than I expected considering the price.

Basic set up

The drv itself is a good deal. Helps to know you dont use a regular computer harddrive in this. I got a 500gb dvr rated drive for mine works flawless. Cameras and wireing for them are cheep and just enough to get started with. Adding a few 700 tvl cameras and cat6 cable will make a world of difference for this setup.Overall the dvr alone is worth the deal.

Ruined 3 drives and will not buy another drive for it, i am writing this off as a lost and money wasted

DVR Works. Cameras are Cheap.

For the price, I felt I got a fair value. Its a start-up package for people that dont know anything about camera systems. (Me) Later I learn that CMOS cameras (With this kit)are low quality camera's. I would have picked a system with CCD cameras had I known this, and you can get 4 camera CCD systems for not that much more $. I still cannot get certain features working even after speaking with tech support. (Email alerts and saving files from my local network through the web browser.) They and myself are clueless. It's set up correctly but still doesn't work. Use the ZVIEWER mobile app. The app that came on the CD with this kit will kill your battery. (At least with mine it did.)

OK for the price

The DVR worked and the set up of basic settings was straight forward with a remote monitor and the remote control. I am still trying to figure out how to get it to view on my andriod tablet. The software included also would not install properly on Windows Vista (FYI). The picture looks average during the day and poor at night beyond 15 feet. I recommend buying better cameras and not using the free ones with the DVR. Still overall you can't beat the price for a basic recorder, just don't expect to be able to use the video to make a positive id in a security situation.
