Dead Meat
DOA Return to seller. Tried several cables, several different SATA sockets, nothing doing. My 500 GB HDD worked under the same conditions so I know it isn't anything but the HDD itself. First drive I've needed in 4 years and it's junk. Story of my life.

Great disk
Have been running this for a while. Works great. Had to add a SATA board to plug it in, but I'm figuring that if or when I upgrade my PC, it will have SATA. Runs quiet, no problems. (It is secondary drive, not boot drive.) Bought it on a sale here at a good price.

Great drive way too expensive
Theses drives are great drives. I have 2 of these in my NAS and they work great. Previously, I had 2x 750 GB Green and they lasted over 5 years running 24-7 so I assume the Blue will just be better!

Needed upgrade
After 6 years, I finally upgraded to a quad core AMD FX 4100, ssd, and this storage drive from a socket 754 Athlon 64 3400+, 80 GB, 250GB & 160GB Hard Drive. Graphics from Geforce 7300 to an AMD 6870 yay! :). I combined 3 hard drives and still have 400GB+. Fast and performs flawlessly.

WD Caviar Blue 1TB SATA Hard Drive
I have had nothing but the best performance and reliability from WD and this unit is no exception. Quiet and fast, bought it on sale for $80 as a back-up from this company for my 5 year old 320GB WD internal drive. That old unit is working perfect with a large amount of hours on it and it works as good today as the day I bought it. In fact my 320GB drive has been running almost 5 years straight while only shutting it off while on vacation. I'm expecting this new drive to be as good all the way around. I also cloned my drive with WD's free download software, everything worked perfect. I swear by WD, they make terrific products.
