Works as Advertised - Does Exactly What I Wanted
I bought this drive to back up my system drive. I was able to clone my existing drive and then run off the cloned drive without issues. This drive works as advertised, and I would buy another one if I needed it.

Unhappy
I have purchased WD hardrives befor and they have always been exceptional. This particular one turned out to have a bad sector so I had problems with it. It was exchanged for me and I am very happy with the replacement hardrive.

Not top end but pretty fraking awesome!
Data transfer seems to be in the medium range, but it's not like it's a SSD. Great product at a great deal!!!

Solid Preformer
I purchased 2 of these recently. One to replace a Seagate 750 that died. The second one is a spare just in case I need it I have it. WD drives have always preformed for me no noise that I notice. My computer is always running. Bob

Western Digital - Always Dependable !
Been running this for 6 months so far. No problems installing, BIOS recognized easily. Bought this to replace 6yr old WD drive. Was surprised it died, I have a few WD hard drive in service for more than 10yrs with no problems. Will only buy WD Hard Disk Drives. Always quite, NO platter chatter!

I have less problems with WD drives
I use to avoid Western Digital in the 90s and went with Maxtor and Segate. but I had a lot of Seagate drive perform poorly after 3-4 years of use especially in DVR's. So I switched to WD and had very good results. This drive is no exception it has performed well.

HP a6742p replacement
Purchased this WD5000AAKX to replace the original WD5000AAKS in my Q4 2008 a6742p that died. No issues installing at all...I mean none. Installed the original 2008 Vista set-up and upgraded to W7, downloaded all the Windows & HP updates and away I went. I've been running 3 weeks with the new drive with no subsequent issues.

Priced To High
Sounds like some kind of deal? I purchased several of these 500 Drives; and have been using them for several years, only now the cost is $20.00 dollars more. You would think with all the larger drives now available the price for these would be $20 or $25 no great deal here at $60 dollars. Unless it's two drives for $60 then you save $10.00
