Good match for the AMD 955 Black

The overclocking features of the Phenom II x4 955 BE are a good match for this board. I do seem to have more hiccups and crashes in Win7 than my old rig, but that could just be timing. Win8Ent has had zero problems. A joy.

Had problems booting up this board

I purchased a new power supply, new memory and new chip for this board but it would not boot up. I have started many motherboards over the past years but I had problems with this one. The LED-D1 would not come on showing that there was a VGA Error. I changed to another Video board but still no boot up. I am reserving my opinion about the board until this can be resolved.

HORRIBLE BOARD

This board did not work the day i took it out of the box. I tried 2 different sets of memory 2 different video cards. It was dead out of the box. I call tech support, FYI BIOSTAR has the worse tech support EVER!, low quality board low quality customer care for their customers. Biostar can learn a lot from these guys in customer care.

Good board for price

My mistake, board will not work without memory added, I only had DDR2 at house so board beeped at me until I put in DDR3 memory. Easy set up manual clear and much better then others I built. For the price one of the best boards I have worked with in the 5 years of building them.

Awesome MoBo

I got this for a computer build. I used a Dual Core 3.1 GHz CPU with it and with the BIOS settings it easily overclocked to 3.5 GHz. It fit perfectly in the Mid-Tower case that I bought. The only downside for me is that the four pin power connection is on the top of the board but my PSU mounts on the bottom. I didn't take any stars off for that because that's the way most of them are. As for what one of the other reviewers said, there are 2 PCI-E x16 ports on this board, not just one.

Good deal

Knowing going in this is not the top of the line MB I personally cannot take away stars because it does not have all the top of the line, newest and most expandable options. With that said upgraded our second(a back-up)system with this board, a 6 core processor, some good memory and a 1GB video card. Install was quick and painless, just make sure you don't overlook the newer boards do not have any IDE interface.

decent mobo,gr8 price

This mobo is a decent one at the price, none too fancy but works well. I stepped to a quad core 3.2 from a p4 3.2 and this thing hauls arse. For the price I am happy. Everything works as it should.

Value motherboard

I bought this board for my 1st ever PC build. This board doesn't have all the bells and whistles of all the more expensive options out there, but for the price, it is a good choice for a non-gamer such as myself. I didn't need onboard video because I already own a discrete graphics card. It has USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0 which were two must-haves for me. I really have no CONS to speak of, but I will offer these thoughts. First, the IO shield is pretty flimsy. I don't know if this is pretty standard on motherboards these days. I'm use to the very solid ones that came with my previous machines. Second, the manual doesn't go very in-depth as far as the installation and standard BIOS setup. BUT, if you take your time and Google anything that you have questions on (or call the mfg), you can work through any challenge.
