Great product!
I have owned many externals over the past few years and have seen MANY of them go out for no reason at all. I currently own three of these for server backups and I am thoroughly impressed. I keep one hooked into our primary server and two off site for backups. They definitely preform well.

Solid Drive, Solid Price
These drives perform very well on a consistent basis (we now have two). They are very quiet, and the plastic stands allow for safe and orderly placement on a desk or in a server rack. Both orders shipped and arrived in no time on standard shipping. As always, a fantastic customer experience with Tiger Direct. Enough said.

Solid drive, good price, good quality
I have purchased my fair share of external hard drives and have seen different enclosures as well as performances. The Fantom drive impressed me because, despite it's affordable price, the production values are more than I expected. From the brushed aluminum case to quiet operations, Fantom got it bang on. USB3 does make a difference when you transfer larger files and while it is not as quick as network, I was pleasantly surprised. I recommend this drive without hesitation and will consider another one if I ever need another external drive. Definitely prefer this over the HP, WD and Seagate offerings.

A wise purchase
So, far I've had my Fantom External Hard Drive for a few weeks now. It works astonishingly well. The load time for movies, music and photos is infinitely faster than my Western Digital of the past. Plus my Fantom is quiet and cool to the touch after hours of use. My only real gripe is the power cord you see with the Western Digital model all you had to do was plug in the USB into the unit and it would take power from the device it was plugged into. It's really a non-issue. You just have to make sure you have an available 2 prong plug near wherever you plan to use the Fantom. Other than the extra cord this external hard drive is the best I've owned to date.

I have two
I got one to replace the USB 2.0 drive I was using for backup. If you have not upgraded to USB 3.0 yet, just do it. So much faster and better than my old drive. Partitioned it to make 2 ea, 1 gig drives. One I send an mirror image to, the other I have for holding files, photos and such. I built a computer for my mom and got her this for her backup. Because I liked mine so well.
