Durable but with consequences
This GPS has been with me for over 2 years. Despite being refurbished, it has worked as intended. The low rating for performance was due to the real time signal... the gps map is very slow and you will end up missing your turns in an unknown city. As for hwy, you will always have the option to look up the conventional signs to reassure yourself. Good gps for starters and if you commute on hwy more often.

Very Disappointed
Had this GPS for about a month. Besides the fact that the screen is large and the voice is loud and clear, i Couldn't think of any pro for this GPS. I used Magaellan before, had great experience using it.

Would never know it was refurbished
Recieved the GPS unit quickly. One wouldn't even know it was refurbished except for the plain brown box. It was clean and had no scratches, markings, etc. On first use, I was going to a city that I had been to before, just wanted to find a new address. I took my normal route to the city (going west). The unit kept telling me to make a u-turn to go the way it wanted to (south). At some point, it realized I was too far to go it's way, but still kept wanting me to go south (must have been it's 2nd choice route). When I started heading south where I normally would, it worked excellent from that point on. I wish there was some way to select the route before the trip. Other than that, I am very happy with my purchase. Great value for the price.

Unrealistic U-turns
I have 3 GPS from the same manufacturer. This one is most insistent in taking U-turns compared to others. This becomes so pervasive that I resort to checking maps on the internet before driving. The only plus point is it chimes just before the turn. The other problem was the manufacturer rejected my e-mail showing the purchase before the map update. It was asking for a regular store receipt with company logo which I never got and I could not download a new map by contacting everybody involved within a short time - the manufacturer, the seller and the checkout company. I do not have a pleasant experience with this product.
