GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME

I think the player is pretty good for the price. The only problem that we have had is we can't upload from the desktop but we can from the laptop. Either way we are able to do it so we are satisfied. The sound and everything else works perfectly

Good long-term investment

I've had the 8GB version of this player for two years now, and haven't experienced any failures in it. It has always performed reliably (even though it's been dropped a few times). My biggest complaint about it is that the battery needs to be re-charged after three hours of use. Unless you have access to external power, it's not the player you'd want to bring on a long flight or ride. The upside of that problem is that it can get a full charge from a wall adapter in under an hour. All in all, I'm pleased with my choice.

made in china for a reason. piece of junk. barely holds a charge and isnt recognized as a drive, so i cant even upload music to it. waste of money

its good enough

Let me start by saying this product is ok for what it is. Others reviewers had problems but either those are defects or lack of reading the manual. To turn this mp3 on you must switch on and hold the play button. You must go to the settings everytime to kill the idle time or your player will shut off. The manual is on the player but one thing i found that is wrong, the shuffle shake is linked to the display setting. Meaning if you have backlight off every movement you make your music will go to the next or previous song. Set the backlight to 1- 3 seconds to solve this problem. Overall the capacity is great, the features are good and the movies play great. As for the camera and video its for outside daytime usage only since no flash is attached. I bought new headphones for it because the free ones sound like 2 cups on your ears. Other than the problems stated it's a great mp3 at this price.

Great Device for the $

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my 6 year old son. First of all, to address the manual not included issue, the quick setup instructions do state that the full manual is on the device in a PDF file. The sound quality seemed good to me, while I did find the camera and video camera to leave a little more to be desired, what can you expect for $35. The navigation is a bit tricky with the buttons, but if it was something you used daily, one could adapt to how the buttons work.

What a waste

This player is not good for anything. The sound quality on this thing is horrible at best. Not to mention the navigation, the buttons dont work most of the time and when they do it is hard to navigate through different menus. Dont waste your time or money on this.

VL-G5 4GB Media Player - Forget it

Bad experience! Either wouldn't take or hold a charge. Acted like it had bad or no battery, only worked with charger in use. Even then, had NO memory or slot for one! NO operating manual! Not returnable unless I pay shipping, and even then no refund, but to take a chance on a second one seems idiotic to me. Looks good, but not heavy enough for a paper weight. Forget about it!! -Dope

A waste of money

This is not my first mp3 player but by far my worst. It has to be the most unuser friendly piece of electronics I have ever owned. Bottom line. Yeah, it has a color screen, is cheap, and has a decent size of memory but good luck getting through the menu options. Buy at your own risk.
