I bought this blender for the single purpose of making smoothies. I guess because the base is not funneled enough at the bottom (i.e. it is too wide) not all of the fruit has a chance to pass by the blades. My smoothies always have huge chunks of fruit in them, no matter how long they blend. This blender might be good for other purposes, but since I bought it just for the one purpose mentioned above, and it does work well for that, I have to give it a bad rating overall. Buying a new blender pronto!

Perfect Replacement

I purchased this refurbished blender to replace the blender portion from my old blender-food processor that acted up after many years of solid, reliable service. To replace the complete unit would have cost much, much more. I was very happy with the old unit and that's why I wanted an exact replacement. It worked perfectly. Great price and delivered the next day. I couldn't be happier.

Excellent

I purchased this unit to replace an inexpensive blender I've had for years. The cheapo blender always strained when attempting to puree even light loads but the Cuisinart does the same job with lots of power to spare. I like the way the blender completely disassembles for thorough cleaning. I'm very pleased with my purchase... you get what you pay for is true.

Works well and good deal

Good solid unit. Nice looking. Works well but is noisier that I would have expected. At first it emitted a slight motor burn smell after use which has dissipated with multiple use. Probably something residual from the refurb (hope so). Good deal for $30.
