Lid Latch spring broke with-in the first week
I purchased the unit because I needed one for my laptop and for the Blu-ray software that came with it. That works great, but found out I could have used XBMC to play. As a Blu-ray player, it works, no power supply needed and is not that loud. The lid spring broke, so you have to push the button then lift the lid youeself to open it. I only use it once a week or so, so I can deal with the issue, less trouble the having to pay for a replacement first, before they would send me a new one. They should send one first, then charge me if I never return the broken one. I recommend spending a few more dolors for a better unit, with or without software.

Great Value for price
I got this to use on my wife's netbook.Unfortunately unable to display Blue-Ray because the netbook doesn't have good enough graphics. It plays DVD movies just fine. I downloaded BlueRay software for my Mac and it displays perfectly. A little noisy, but I remember when DVD players sounded like jet planes taking off, so I do mean little.

Glad that I bought it!
I took it out of the box, plugged it in, installed the software, and I was watching BluRay within 10 minutes. I bought it for BluRay for me and for my daughter to occasionally use on her notebook that doesn't have an optical drive. It works flawlessly on both. Just no BluRay for her since the software could only be installed on one computer (Come on VLC! Get BluRay!) And I love the fact that it is powered solely by USB. One less power cord to worry about. The only part I am not perfectly happy with is that it is a bit noisy. Not overly noisy, just a little more than what I am used to hearing.

Works as advertised
This is a terrific addition to my i3 dell laptop without having to buy a new one. Cyberlink software works well. I felt it was a really good buy. It is a bit noisy when the computer boots up. I am willing to overlook that based on its performance.
