Not recommended for use as a bridge.
When using as a bridge this adds unnecessary complexity to the network. Most important for me the connection between the extender (bridge) and the primary router drops connection which disrupts the streaming music from the networked receiver. Since this was the primary reason we bought the networked receiver it was the deal breaker. For use bridge I cannot recommend this product. It will be returned.

Worked better than expected.
It was simple to setup, worked with my linksys cisco routers and easily extended them. Allowed cat5 as well as wireless and both work seemlessly. No noticeable lag at all.

Does what it is meant to do almost all the time
I bought this because my daughter is a college student and studies in her basement bedroom, which is on the apposite side of the house from the main wireless router, and only received an intermittent signal. The device solved the problem nicely, once I figured out how to set it up, which wasn't terribly intuitive. I've had it about a month and it has needed to be reset once so far - not difficult. Overall, it was a good buy.

Works perfectly,,,,
Although I purchased the refurbished model, there should not be any difference between them. My unit works PERFECTLY. I have an Xbox 360 and laptop about 50 feet away from my Netgear WGR614v9 (the one without the WPS button) router, and previously they could barely get a signal. The Xbox was getting zero bars and the laptop was getting one bar on a good day. Since installing this unit I get three solid bars on my Xbox and FOUR on my laptop, making for great connections. It did, however, take some time to install and required one simple email to tech support - which was answered the next day and got me going...

Did the job
Plugged it in, followed the instructions (took about 10 minutes) and 1 my speed on speedtest dot net went from 45 kbit per sec to 1500 kbit per sec. Not a challenging application of a range extdender but it did the job.

Don't waste your money
I thought this would extend the range from my modem router from my isp. It did...but had to keep reconnecting it to the network and it was only 20 linear feet from the router. It dropped the signal the time.
