Wonderful little sound bar for the price!

I bought this sound bar for my mother who wanted something not too expensive to provide sound for her living room entertainment center (LED TV, Blu-ray DVD, cable box). I looked at other products in this price range ($200) and this sound bar by SONY provided the best bang for the price. The three HDMI ports in the back of the subwoofer are what distinguishes this unit from others in the same price change, especially if you have other products that have HDMI connections. The sound bar itself is thin and sleek, but the real workhorse is the subwoofer, which provides power for the sound bar. Just an FYI... You can't use the sound bar without the subwoofer. The subwoofer itself is not a small unit, so review the dimensions before you buy if you have limited space in your room. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Great sound, easy to use.

I purchased this with a same brand TV. Easy set up, Bravia Sync works perfectly with my playstation 3, TV and sound bar. My directv receiver also works well with the factory input settings. The HDMI hub is awesome and the sound from this is very, very good.

Good value for the money!

Simple to set up, sounds great. Sometimes after watching a movie on my player, the digital video signal doesn't switch over to television when the mode is changed and shows no signal although the sound is present. If I toggle the device inputs, the video signal usually corrects itself, but it would be better if it worked the first time. This could be a television - theater system interface problem, but I haven't had similar problems with other digital devices. Overall, a good product and worth the money.

Nice sound

Nice sound...wish I would of read about it more closely as I wanted to place the subwoofer farther away from the TV but as it is a receiver also that is next to impossible as everything plugs into the subwoofer. But the sound is very good. And it is easy to use.

Amazing sound experience

I was looking to buy a good home theater for the bedroom, soundbar was my first choice, no wire clutter and totally clean with HDMI connectivity. Doing bit of research, I finally zeroed on this product. All I cared was decent surround sound, since this was my first sound bar, I really didn't know what to expect. I must say this was a wonderful surprise, it was surely a big bang in a small package. The sound was truly satisfying, all the explosions sound as real as possible and it truly gives you sorta surround experience. I would surely recommend to buy this product, you surely won't be disappointed. Anyways I got this at a really attractive price , I believe I just got lucky! The only thing which I think didn't match my expectations was it was initially backordered, however once in stock, it was shipped lightning fast.

Turbo TV Sound

The sound is very impressive for such a bargin unit. It would be a good choice for small rooms and those who want to simplify and amplify their TV experience. The subwoofer must be in your remote line of sight--no issue for me. The abundant HDMI inputs allow you to connect all your devices to this unit without much fuss or wire chaos. I've even started using it to listen to digital music. The sound field options (preset equalizer settings) are convenient, with more customization available to increase bass, treble and subwoofer levels.

Makes the TV sound like consoles used to

Not a bad sound system, but do not expect anything like 5.1 surround. Expect deep, rich sound coming from your TV, but do not expect stereo per se. I researched and found this product recommended as best for its price range. I was stuck with an LED TV that had only optical sound out, so my plan to use an existing stereo system rack bought in 1987 was a no go. This Sony system does have multiple HDMI with pass-through, but I run my signal directly to the TV, then optical SPDIF it out to the Sony receiver. There is the slightest of hints of a sync problem between video and audio, but not appreciable. Trade off between a bigger, brighter sharper screen is lousy sound. This system eliminates that discrepancy.
