Great Hardare with useable Software
Very easy to setup and use. Had a Mustek model many years ago and this model exceeds my expectations. The 11x17 photo album from the 1920s scanned easily with perfect quality. Although the included software is usable, it could be improved. Other software on system overcame the limitations.

Hardware great, software... not so much.
Just what the title says. The hardware does very well but the included software is very lacking. Not much control, it wants me to download wallpaper with a little smiley face button?!?! I would like to be able to tweak settings a lot more than this will let me.

Hardware 1; Software 0
The scanner hardware does meet expectations. The included software is seriously lacking and is the cause of my low rating. I use VueScan to create a functional interface.

This is the wirst scanner I have ever owned.
I can not get a clear scan from this scanner at all. Have spent many hours trying and still doesn't work.

Inadequate toy
Only has three scan settings, fine, super fine or normal. Cannot adjust dpi, cheesy interface. Quality of machine is more toy than tool. Unimpressed. Returned.

Not Win2k compatible
For those of you still using Win2k, please note that this unit is NOT compatible with that OS. The installer is not sophisticated enough to detect the OS difference and will try to install drivers, which will fail. I tested it by installing to a friend's XP platform and everything worked fine with that OS.

Great Deal
This is a very reasonable and user friendly large area scanner. This is the best available that is not commercial grade (and therefore extremely expensive.) I got this for my child who is majoring in Graphic Arts, and she loves it.

Sweet Scanner
Works very well and very user-friendly. Price is amazing for the size of the scanning bed. Software is PC-Only so haven't used included software. Otherwise though a very good buy!

Worth the Price
I do not use this product for faxing, etc. just for scanning. It is the only large-format personal scanner out there with a manageable price. The colour quality is much improved from previous models. User interface is awful, therefore I use the panel offered through my commuter's Devices and Printers. Scanning from Photoshop CS5 does not work well, but you can scan an image and open it in Ps5. My scanner is still new, so let's hope it does not break down any time soon.
