very good
i have had this computer for 2+ yrs. The battery is shot but it still works grest. I use it every day boots up quickly, no lag and has a very nice display. i'm very happy with it

died after only 14 months
I bought this laptop 14 months ago. It ran fine until last week when the screen went gray, and it died. The geek squad said it would be $250 to repair and that might not fix the problem. I only paid $450, so it not worth spending the money to fix. I would not recommend this laptop, nor any Acer product for that matter.

Totally Died after 16 Months
I bought one of these for 449 in may 2010. I used it, on average, probably 4 times a week for 2-3 hours at a time. Now, as it has reached the ripe old age of 16 months in service, it suddenly started flashing the screen and then went down hard. No power light, will not boot, nothing, just dead. I won't be buying a budget laptop from this mfg again.

Seems to be a pattern here
This computer lasted just under one year with normal use, and it seems that this is happening to more and more people that have purchased this item. I don't know if it was because it was a refurbished or not. Oh yes and one other thing, you would think that a password on the hard drive would be a good idea right. WRONG!! If the motherboard ever dies you will have no way to access the information on that drive.
