Worth the extra $$ ?
I have three WD 1TB blue drives and decided to go with the black drive this time. Of course its a good hard drive, however Windows experience index could not see any difference in performance and frankly neither can I. I'll probably stick with the blue drives.

Solid drive good performance
Replaced a failing WD Blue. Significant performance difference irrespective of spec differences. 5 yr warranty instead of 3. WD does have a good grasp of how long their drives will last. If you need a solid platter drive, this one fits the bill. I noted no defects in the drive platters in testing. The 64 MB buffer really improves performance. Recommended!

Good replacement for original system drive
This drive was purchased to replace the system drive in an HP machine. I had it professionally installed, including transferring all the data from the old drive. Shipping from Tiger Direct was faster than anticipated so the replacement happened more quickly, which was much appreciated.

WD Black 1 TB Hard Drive is a solid drive
WD Black 1 TB Hard Drive arrived quickly and undamaged. It is a solid drive and is fairly fast. It runs quietly and not hot.
