Great Add-on Drive
I needed an internal IDE DVD reader. I had an internal writer already. This drive fit the bill.

Works very well, Good price
I replaced the failed CD-ROM drives in two old computers this week. Used these right out of the box. Now two old computers have functional CD-ROM drives. No drivers were needed, just replaced old drives with new and booted up and worked like new machines. Make sure to note old drive jumper placement. I used cable select- worked fine.

DOA
My drive was doa out of the box. Sent it back for a refund. I opted for a refund rather than a replacement - bought a different drive instead. Can't say much else.

Frustration
Why do these DVD Rom drives ship without a driver disk. When you search online it just leads you to sites that claim to offer free downloads but then connect you to where they want to charge you for subscriptions to their driver update software. This has convinced me that any device that does not come with a disk is not worth the time or trouble to order. Due to this I have no intention of purchasing another MSI product and will ascertain whether any other products I purchase come with a Disk.

Great IDE drive for vintage computers
Working very well on old Pentium-IV 1.8 GHz at a good price. After 10 to 12 years, most of CD-ROM drives are dead and it's not easy to find IDE NEW drives. Frank Hood, Quebec city.
