I'm glad I bought it.

I've never had any problems with this product. It has done eveything I wanted. I transfer movies from VCR to the computer. I edit out what I don't want. I add soft music to the backgound since most of the home movies didn't have sound back when they were recorded. The ones that do have sound I can still add music and raise and lower the backgroud music where I want to. I throw in some cool transitions, but not too many. Then I save it and burn it to a dvd or put in on my facebook page. I get many good comments from it. I have had no problems running this program on my computer with Win7, 2gigs of ram and a quad 4 processer.

check the web for more reviews of Pinnacle products, but generally you will find that only Pinnacle software will work with Pinnacle hardware. And that Pinnacle software doesn't work completely. My experience is all is well until you hit Capture and then Video Import hangs. Have done lots of troubleshooting short of reprogramming the drivers or the software. Do your research before buying Pinnacle!

Had this product approx. 1 month. Only utilized the import feature so far ( importing vhs vhs-c tapes ) and the result has been very good. Did see some synchronization issue on one import wrt video audio. Product has already paid for itself just in terms of the analog to digital conversion of my video tapes.

Do the basics

Before you get into any video editing know one thing that NOBODY will tell you up front. You need a very gutsy computer. Pay no attention to the minimum requirments for your hardware. The simple fact is this, video files are huge period. You will need lots of storage space. With prices coming down on HD, do yourself a favor and go with a minimum of 1TB or close to it. You need the latest in dual core or quad core processors, plenty of memory and a video card made for video editing which are called workstation cards. This is not a cheap hobby but if you make the investment into very good hardware you have eliminated practically all of your problems. The other thing to note is that the computer you buy should be dedicated, meaning no other software should be loaded, no games no nothing except what you need to edit. Also you must not use this computer for surfing the internet, only connect to download updates for your software. That is the long and the short of it.
