works as advertised
Not much else to say otherthan it works as advertised. The brackets to hold the fan in place came very very bent, almost 90 degrees in the very center, when it should have been straight. Since it was a replacement fan I had the old brackets and simply used those instead. Fan works just fine and was what I really wanted out of the product.

CPU cooler works like a charm
First, I was happy to find the right CPU cooler for an older XP PC. This one is inexpensive and worked perfectly. It even came with cooling paste. Couldn't be happier.

Heatsink doesn't seat properly
It's a good fan but the heatsink doesn't seat properly in an Intel 478 motherboard. The bottom sides of the heatsink are not beveled to accomodate the standoffs in the CPU area of the mobo so it doesn't sit all the way on top of the CPU itself. As a result it overheats and shuts off the PC. Was able to use the fan on the old sink on a few PC's but not every time.

Noisy Fans
The fan is noisy, even worse than my old one. I also exchanged for another one, but same noise. My CPU is P4 2.8G. The CPU is not hot at all, but the fan is just noisy.

so-so
The fan itself works quite well, as for the heat sink, not so well. After installing it, my cpu still turned off due to overheating. I place the fan into my old heatsink, and it been fine ever since. It was worth the price, even though the heatsink was absolutely useless.

Good Buy
I bought this fan to replace the stock CPU fan and what a great buy! My computer now runs 20C cooler and the fan is pretty quiet. I don't think you could find a better price.

Easy fix
This fan and heatsink replaced an old one with bad bearings. It basically comes as you see in the picture. It has the thermal grease pre-applied on the bottom of heatsink and the clips to keep everything in place. Directions included assume you are installing on a clean cpu. I used Q-tips to wipe old grease off. The new heatsink seemed to have enough grease to coat my cpu. It was rather easy to replace my old heatsink & fan. Haven't had any problems with it since installation. No more grunts, growls, and other bearing noises from my cpu fan. Just the smooth sound of mostly quiet.
