Works Perfectly

So happy that I found this product. Works perfectly. My one suggestion to the manufacturer would be to have simple instructions about plugging it into the computer first, waiting for a message about the device being found, and then plugging it into the printer (to avoid issues that others seem to have had), but luckily my husband knew what to do so we didn't have any issues.

Works like original Parallel printer cable

Bought this for a new Windows 8 Lenovo machine with only USB ports. Hated to give up my older Brother laser printer. The printer has one parallel port and one USB. Using two PC's with this printer. The cable purchased works just like the original parallel printer cable from the older XP machine. The PC recognized the port and I was up and running.

What ever reason

This cable would not work for me. Have Intel z77 motherboard and i7 processer with Windows 7 professional 64 bit. Called Ultra and was told I needed to update my BIOS before it would work. My BIOS is updated! Bout to believe it's a defective cable.

Why doesn't it work

I tried to use my old Oki OL 400e laser printer on my new PC running Windows 7 using this printer adapter cable. The initial prompt is only for Windows 98 or Windows ME. I keep getting an installation failure repeatedly regardless of which version I use. What am I doing wrong? The Canon Pixma printer runs fine with its USB hookup.

Good product, very reasonable price

Quick delivery. Works well with my new Win7 PC. I followed advice from a previous review: Plugged in the Ultra device to the USB port first before I connected the printer. Windows recognized the USB device and installed it. After that completed, I connected the printer. Windows then installed the printer drivers. Found that when my old HP LJ6 goes to sleep, I can't print to it. Windows will not wake the printer up, and loses knowledge of the printer until I reboot Windows. However, if I press the selection button on the front of the printer to wake it up before sending a document to the printer, there is no problem.

Life Saver

This prodect works great! Thought I was going to have to upgrade my old laser printer when getting a new PC but thanks to this, that was not the case. Doesnt have a lag or anything, just as fast as the normal parallel cable

This product did exactly what I was expecting !

This product did exactly what I was expecting ! I bought it to connect my HP Laserjet 6P to my new PC with Windows 7 64 bit. I plugged in the cable to my PC, windows recognized it right away and it created a USB port on my PC. Next I installed my printer just like I would normally do but rather than specifying it was on LPT1 I specified it was on USB01 which is the new port created by this device. For now I have access to all features of my printer and the printer is working as good as it was on my old pc with an parralel port. The only negative is the cable length, it could be longer. 5ft is not really long and I had to connect to an USB extender.

did not work with HP 5550

Bought new ASUS computer and tried to still use my old printer. Test pages print fine, but if I try to print a page it splits about every 1.5 inches and prints another page.

Cable did not work with my computer(Vista),XP or 2000.
