Works for me
I had absolutely no problem installing this cable on a Seagate hybrid drive. One end is straight and the other is right angled so it's pretty versatile. Then again, I'm using a midsize tower so I have lots of room to get at things. The ends fit well without locking clamps but if you're poking around inside a lot, you might want to get a locking model!

Cheap. Loose. Not worth cheap price.
I took the positive reviews too seriously I guess. These cables are inexpensive, but guess what? you get what you pay for and you don't pay for much here. These cables are loose, weak, fragile and ill-suited for use on anything other than a cardboard prop. If you have a RAID they're pretty much self-abuse, as one wiggle and woops! Degraded RAID! While the connectors have no locks, I've had other ''no-lock'' SATA cables that were far tighter than these and could be described as ''worry-free''. These are worrisome; The molded plastic is thin, weak and breaks very easily, making these already loose cables even less prone to staying connected. Bad! Next time I'll spend a bit more and get a better cable with better connectors and more beefy material.

Does the job
Pros: the cable plugs snugly into the drive and mobo ports cons: Does not have locking clip that some cables have. Cable connectors a bit flimsy. Might want to look for cable with locking clip if you are going to move system extensively or repeatedly move the cable around alot. That said I have had no issues and it works.

Essential equipment
This cable works great to connect data including SATA III from the motherboard to the hard drive and DVD drive. The male to male connection that this provides is what is needed. The 18 inch length is handy for cable management in the PC case.
