Excellent deal

Now have three of these, have features in cameras 3 times the price. Note that there is no IR filter so daylight colors are completely off. Use a program like Blue Iris for motion detection and recording since the built in motion detection is limited.

A quality little one.

I previously wrote a review where I said that I liked this camera very much, but it lacked one major function - the ability to set a schedule for snapshots. Well,tech support has come through. I have been asking for this feature since I bought this camera six months ago and now the new firmware V2.06 has it. This camera has 1280x1024 resolution and a very clear picture. lots features and good price

it is a small and easy camera to my application which i can setup watch my front door and back with ftp and email to my laptop and smart phone. Just alert the motion detect need to calibrate. Otherwise it will overflow your email. I got 3 units and vendors claimed will ship new version soon to improve it. nice.

Not the product of the year!

The price is cheap, but you get what you pay for. The web interface of this camera is painfully slow (even localy, on a wired network). The motion detection even set at the minimum treshold seems to trig the alarm. The image quality is poor (they say 1.3 MegaPixels, but the artifacts due low light conditions greatly deteriorate the image). You can set only 6 events in the setup, and it's impossible to define the size (lenght) of the recordings. The IR led's doesn't seems to be really efficient (it's ok for close things up to 5 feets, but don't expect to see up to 15-20 feets with it). The image suddently become darker or lighter, even without any change in the light condition! To get a better quality picture, you got to set the Slow Shutter to maximum, to get more light exposure. This might be acceptable for stand still picture taken with a camera, but not for a security camera where you need to clearly see the face of a thief who is moving fast.

great price performance

Surprised to me the camera is small and like AXIS 207. The quality is almost as good as Axis small one. It comes with all features where your can tune up. Although it could be too much for some of you, I can fully adjust as i needed. Some helping hand from Asante is needed it but they acknowledged.

Can't Beat It For The $$$

For just over a $100 I am very pleased with this camera. The picture detail is very good, but the color is a bit off. The IR night vision will only work for very short distances. If you want the camera to pick up a subject from farther than 5ft away at night you will need another source of light. The web server requires you to use IE not Firefox, and the interface is a bit goofy but it works. The wireless has worked very well for the 2 months I have had the camera. You will need some networking knowledge or be willing to learn about it. You can view the camera from any location as long as you set up port forwarding on your router. I am going to purchase another one.

Good CAM for the price

I was interesting with a IPCAM that i can use as a security system for my home, without the need for a PC when configure. It's working great. Can send the picture to a FTP site somewhere in the WWW, so the thieft can took the CAM, his picture already somewhere else ! I can configure the time when i want the CAM to send picture, and when not to send picture. For that price, it's a good CAM. I will purchase 2 more of these in 1 week. It was easy for me to configure the CAM without open any book... of course, i have some technical knowledge, so i cannot tell if the instruction are good or not because i figure out rapidly how to configure the CAM.

Great Buy for the $$$

Camera was setup was a bit of a challenge for me. If you are techical and have an understanding of your wireless network and router then it should be easy. For the money the camera is feature rich. I use it primarily as a baby monitor to make sure that my daughter is not crawling out of her bed. The night vision works great. The daytime video quality is really good. I also have it accessible to the outside world through my router. Just make sure that the camera IP address is in the range of your router IP addresses. User documentation is decent if you know what you are looking for.

Never did work

The initial setup seemed easy, however after working with it for two days, a picture never came. The instructions seemed vague, tech support was not open, but perhaps the item was defective from the start. It was returned and the search is on for a more user friendly unit.
