GREAT laptop for the price

Fast upgrade to 10 year old Gateway bougt as a factory refurb! 8gb memory, runs like a champ. Did NOT use Windows 8 upgrade disc, kept installed Windows 7 Pro. Great sound, graphics are very good considering its a shared card. Still runs games perfectly fine. Not too much bloatware to delete! Brushed aluminum case is strong and light. So far I love this as another desktop replacement. Only had to add Office 2010 and I'm back up! Easy File Transfer through LAN from XP to Win7 worked like a breeze. Downloaded Thunderbird for email as Outlook Express is gone., use them for 99% of computer orders.

Great Laptop to replace desktop

Purchased this to replace an aging desktop. So far no problems and everything works very well. Keeping Windows 7 Pro - I have NO need for Windows 8. Disappointed I had to pay extra over other laptops with only Windows 8.

Great Gift Idea

I bought this as a gift for someone else and and they say it has been flawless. I have had other HP products and no failures on my gaming laptop that has been used for 7 years. So this one in particular... for the money and use, it's perfect.

sucks

this computer is a piece of trash. crashes whenever it wants, have to hard start it a few times to get it on, freezes up, no microsoft office included, not a good computer at all, i thought i was going to get my monies worth, not at all. should sell for 10 dollars cause that's all its worth!!

Slow and will not hook up wireless

Amazing laptop for the price. Using it primarily as a gaming pc, and I have to even see it stutter.

Does everything I expected and more

Great all around laptop for the money and added features make this a great buy for anyone. 8 GB of RAM makes this one flow smoothly from one task to the next.

Good Value, Not for Gaming but Basic use

It is an excellent quality laptop if you need basic use for the cost. Keeping in mind the laptop needs to be tuned up. Once I did some tweaking I got the speed up to 2774. The 1757 number is low from the other reviewer however, I think that is out of box, which I did not test, but this computer was slow out of the box. The bloat-ware needs to be uninstalled or tuned down. It took literally 10 hours but the computer can be made faster and does work well for basic use. The screen resolution is okay and the LED is nice but not great for video compared to my old laptop. If you want gaming go with a different processor. The case is awesome brushed steel. Awesome laptop for students and basic computing.

Great Laptop

This is your typical high quality HP laptop. Comes complete with windows 8 upgrade. I'm considering buying another one since the price, quality, and functions can't be beat.
