It can be used with all 3.5" hard drives up to 15,000 RPM and fits in a free 5.25" drive bay. With a combination of acoustic foam pads, thermal tape, and dual side-mounted aluminum heatsinks, the Silenx LXHDSS Luxurae Hard Drive Silencing Solution reduces vibrational noise and motor whine from any 3.5" hard drive from 3 to 8 dBA and stays cool in even the most demanding conditions. For additional cooling, the Silenx LXHDSS Luxurae Hard Drive Silencing Solution can be used with the 40x20mm 14dBA iXtrema Pro Quiet Fan.

not good, not bad
Pros: reduces hd noise. Not expensive. Simple design. Cons: Does not reduce temperature. Foam pads actually insulate heat in. Foam padding is the type that breaks down into nasty sticky mush after a few years. Recommendation: replace with closed cell neoprene or other long lasting rubber or foam pads and use a faceplate fan mounted hd cooler in front of this mount.

Great Job
Works just as described. Really quieted up my hard drives. I was worried about heat after reading all the other reviews but their temps only went up like 1 degree. I have extremely good airflow in my case though.

does what it's supposed to for a low price
Having used this for about a month now, I truly have no complaints. It cuts the noise of my harddrive down greatly and I haven't seen any rise in temperature since I've set it up. A bit of a hassle setting it up I guess, since you have to stick the foam in yourself. Not a big deal, just be careful and line it up well. This is definitely something I would recommend if you are annoyed by noises from your harddrive.

Haha. The names kinda funny but the product works great. Try this luxury silencing for your harddrive. instructions were easy to understand.

Great Value
After looking at other silensing cases, this is a great value for $10.00. It does the job very well. My only concern is the heat sinks dont seem to be working very well with a 1tb drive. It gets pretty hot, so I'm preying the HD doesn't burn out. Would probably check my case again to see if I could put a fan in the back of this thing to cool it off better.
