Good idea
I really like the concept and the fans and mounting work great for my purpose. Problem is the control unit. I've got two. Both are dead just outside the warranty. Tried to get them replace and company wants $$ to fix. Since it's only under warranty for 30 days... I don't want to keep paying $$ every month for these.

A nice solution to keep things cool
The fans were dead silent when I plugged them in while laying on the floor!! Just don't overtighten the screws while installing them or you can bend the fan out of position and the bearings will make some rattle. Fine product all the way around. Didn't care about not having an on-off switch - my DVR is always warm - even when its on Standby, so I just run the fans 24-7. The only problem was the fan has to be mounted on the INSIDE of the cabinet - I didn't have room for that with all the cables, so I had to improvise and mount it on the outside, but then I couldn't use the decorative covers at all. No big deal though - things are ice cold now - wish I found this years ago!

Quiet, yet powerful
Quiet, yet powerful ... these fans are very (pleasantly) surprising. I have installed two of them to cool my AV receiver and am very pleased by the cooling performance -- and practically inaudible even during quiet movie scenes.

Good AV option
I bought this for a rack of pro AV studio gear that runs at high temps. Most fans to cool the rack run way too loud and are not adjustable. THese units run quiet at low speed and acceptable, with excellent cooling at high speed. I control the on off by having it plugged into my switchable Monster power supply. Wish the control device could be mounted on the side of my rack easily. Also, the fan and mount is quite deep and may limit some applications. I have not found anything else this good or quiet!

Awesome Product
I cut two holes in the back of my AV cabinet and installed these fans. They are great! They run very efficiently, and quite fast if need be.
