I used this in an older HP with no serial port. I placed it, turned on machine, It found the card and worked great.

Just What I Needed

Out IT Dept recently upgraded our computers with HP Win 7 Pro 64-bit systems. These have a plethora of usb ports but no serial ports. We have a number of data collection devices which have only a serial port for data transfer. I've tried various usb-serial connectors with inconsistent results. I bought this card hoping it would work figuring since it was inexpensive I wouldn't lose much if it didn't. Install was simple and after tweaking Windows Mobile Device Center to recognize the new com port, it worked like a champ. I've only had it a little over a week, but have connected 7 different devices multiple times without issue. As with most other products, This company is very price competitive and shipping is fast (I had the card within two days with standard shipping). Highly recommended card and seller.

Worked for me after USB to serial failed!

I had the same problem as an above user installing it. Sending it to the Win7 64 bit folder did not work! But, just sending it to the disk drive and leting it find the driver did the trick.( A big TY! to the person who added that review it realy helped me out.)

Ordered this card after USB to Serial adapter failure. I run my Davis weather station on a serial port. Worked right off. The only problem was changing com ports to port 4 but did that without a hitch. This company is a wonderful addition to online purchases.

It did its job

Only porbolem we had install this was if you told windows 7 where to look for the drives it did not like it. But when we just told it we had the disk find it your self it installed right a way. Work great.

Does the Job!

Needed a serial port for an older piece of equipment on a new Windows 7 machine. Tried a USB to serial converter but couldn't get to work. This board works perfectly. Should have just done this first at this price.

Fills the bill

Bought to allow use of rapdily becoming even more antique fax setup with a more modern PC. Had some doubt about the auto configuration but it setup without intervention and saved a bunch of rework time (for a while, anyway.)

I purchased this serial port card to be able to use my Uniden scanner software on my Windows Vista computer. My desk top did not have a serial port and I could never get the converter cable from USB to serial to work. After installing this card the program came up and ran great. I feel this was a very good value for what I paid for it.
