Could have been great, but it sure wasn't

It comes with a demo version of the GPS, which I knew before buying. Once my demo expired, it would not let me purchase the GPS license. Horribly frustrating. It did okay surfing with the limited plug ins, and the android store is blocked. It will not even allow you to install some APKs directly (like google maps) It crashed a few times. Sometimes it would hang during GPS use, or hang during audio playback. Playback, when it worked, was decent but I had a lot of files that wouldn't play using the included drivers. (can pay more for them, but if it wouldnt let me pay for GPS, i had no desire to try to buy a plug in)

Could have done better

Overall product is just so so.... Bought it mainly for watching movies on and you have to pay extra to do that. Andriod platform is nice, but has less you can do application and games wise than my Android Smartphone. Music is a pain to navigate through so I will stick with my Ipod for that. Thought it would be a cool device to have... now it is just another electronic device I have to charge.

Great Product

bought this to get away from shelling out more money to apple. upgrade the firmware as soon as you receive it. charges in from usb in about 8 hours. bought the car charger and it fully charges in about an hour that way. it completely out performs my ipod touch.

lower version of Adroid and frequently frozen

seems looking good but Old androd firmware V1.6 and no plan to upgrade V2.2 which is latest version. Frequently frozen device and should pay extra money for GPS Navigagtor, HD Video player. Youtube is very bad. Full charging hours more than 24 hours.

I came across this device actually while looking to buy either the i Touch or the Z U N E HD. After reading the specs for all devices this one(ARCHOS5) had the best specs of all. The screen is

great ipod touch replacement

If you are a media or tech junkie, this a great product for you. Compared to the ipod touch, pros are the drag and drop interface and add on products like media dock. Cons are the resistive vs copacitive touch screen of things like the ipod touch. It feels a little more like a computer than a ipod touch and the touch screen as for as recistive screens go is a fairly good one. Other nice things are the large variety if file formats supported out of the box, also I LOVE the little kick stand on the back, great thing to have if you need to watch a movie or something like that. If you are buying this specifically for the GPS I would not recommend it, can be quite touchy at times. Great job on shipping, bought it on July 3rd and was there by July 8th, 5 days with the 4th in there. Great prodtuct would buy again. THANKS

Great Product

This overall is a great entertainment device. However the device really performs at it's peak once you jailbreak the device. As a replacement for a broken Ipod Touch I can honestly say i really enjoy this devices larger screen and countless media capabilities. However even after being jailbroken you tend to miss the Itunes Store apps available on apple products. Be warned if you expect to buy this device and be done with paying for it your wrong in order to play HD video you must pay $39.99 to unlock the feature.
