Didn't work with preloaded Win 7 home premium
Hp mother bd sata controller gave out. Tried to use this as a replacement. Everytime I tried to boot into Win 7 the system would crash even after loading Vantec drivers. Tried 2 different Hard Drives with Win 7. Could get diagnotics to work but not the OS.

Wouldln't work with Gigabyte MOBO
I bought this card strictly for the IDE port. I have a WD 40GB HDD with Win XP Home installed, and want the customer's doc's to be usable still. The drive is shown at bootup, but no matter how the BIOS settings are adjusted, Windows won't run to allow installing drivers for this card. I was trying to keep costs down for my customer so didn't want to install a new SATA HDD.

Not what I thought
For the price I suppose it is a good card, I really didn't need it and have only used it once, it did perform as described so I guess I would have to say it's a good product. Yes I would recommend to a friend if they need it.

IDE cable cramped
This worked fine, except the IDE ports should have been reversed. With the ribbon cable pointing down, it has to be curled back up, which seriously cramps it against my graphics card which is in the adjacent slot. There are no alternative slot configurations I can use, so I can't use the IDE ports at all. Fortunately, I bought it more for teh SATA ports, and it works fine for those. It just would have been nice to be able to use some older IDE hard drives.

Works well I would recommend the 6 port version
This is awesome for the money I would get the 6 port version as you are wasting a pcie slot to use it. why not be prepared to add more drives if needed. Works outa the box no issues at all works very well. and very fast.

Works great.
Works great. Only 2 of 4 sata ports work at the same time not 4 But for the money 2 are fine. I set the jumpers for 1 internal and 1 external. The esata I connected to a 2 TB Fantom Drive G-Force, which I just reviewed. As fast if not faster than my 3 internal drives. I am not using any raid and have not used the ide port.

not all 5 ports work as presented
I bought this card since I wanted to get 4 extra SATA drives in my PC. Internal 2 SATA and 2 eSATA ports don't work at the same time! Basically it's just 3 port card. I have not tested IDE port, but one needs to choose either between using internal SATA ports or external eSATA ports.

Added Extra Ports
Added Functionality back to hdd after 2 onboard ports went bad. Great for price. Wish it didn't use jumpers but I will not change setup so no need to really fuss with it after installation.
