Getting what you pay for
I have had two of these now, and I'm learning the build quality varies but still on the cheap side. One worked for about 4,5 months before it started to go out. The second one had the loose ''out'' connection and barely worked from the get-go. I'm on the fence whether to get another or spend more on something (hopefully) more reliable. Not worth more than the 10 bucks asking price, and that might be a little high.

Great solution
I have a PC laptop with a combo jack (microphone-earphone) that did not recognize a microphone when plugged in. This was a great work around. I need to make sure I get the sound levels correct, but that is my learning curve. I am looking forward to giving this a try on my Ubuntu machines too. My only disappointment was that the stubby USB cable that came with it (these are exceptionally useful) was defective from the manufacturer. I will save the re-soldering job for a cold, snowy day when I am all caught up.

Good for the price
Received this product and it worked for 1 day before the speaker jack pushed in too far to use. We received the replacement for free and so far so good. The connection to the speaker isn't great since it is external and it can move around and it doesn't take much for it to come partially unplugged.

HP MicroServer - Perfect
This worked ecellent for audio on our HP MicroServer. I have had it on both Windows 7 64 bit and Ubuntu 12 with out any issues. Plugged in and was recognized without hunting or adding a driver. Better sound than I had expected.

Perfect for Ubuntu Linux 12.04
I have an HP computer equipped with Beats Audio that works fine under Windows 7 but won't work with Linux 12.04. Beats wouldn't help, HP wouldn't help. Saw a review for the Sabrent saying it works with 12.04. Found this to be a very inexpensive solution to my Beats Audio problem. No setup, just plug and play.

I did get the unit working but the audio jack was very loose and had to wiggle with to get any sound. Just plain not usable

plug and play in Linux
A true plug and play; no need to configure anything to make this card work in Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit. The quality of the sound this card produces is noticeably better than the built-in motherboard audio on my laptop. At this price, value for the money cannot be beat!
