Awesome product for the money

Replaced my Samsung Tab 2 10.1 as I'm not a fan of Apps, as most don't take you to a full featured program. Not a fan of Windows 8 yet, but have found work arounds to make it bearable. The Ultrabook was the ideal replacement as it was small, lightweight and had all the features of a full blown laptop. Only surprise was it didn't have Bluetooth for my mouse, but resolved that with Belkin Bluetooth Micro adapter, from Tiger Direct of course. Also added 4 GB ram for total of 8 GB of memory. All in All this is an excellent traveling companion, with all the features, at a great price, to replace an old heavy laptop.

slow performance

the asus i received is not brand new. after using for 2 weeks, i couldn't turn it on.

Great Laptop

This laptop is fast, compact and quality-made. The 10 point touchscreen in Windows 8 is pretty cool. The screen size is bigger than most ultrabooks which is really nice. It has the highest quality chicklet keyboard I've ever used. It uses the integrated HD 4000 Intel graphics which scores in the low to mid 6's for gaming which allows low to mid graphics intensive games to play quite smoothly. It was a great buy. I highly recommend this ultrabook.

GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY

Got this laptop a week go.So far, everything is working good. No backlit keyboard.Was disappointed that there is no Bluetooth. With that being said, still a good deal for the price.

Nice Ultrabook

This is a nice ultrabook, with easy to read screen and as I get used to Win 8 kind of like it. I did add 4gb RAM from crucial which has helped the speed a bit.

Great deal for an Ultrabook

Very solid! Feels like its machined from a solid piece of aluminum. I have been very pleased with it.

Great for the Price

My first impression was that it's a nicely designed ultrabook, though it looks a little similar to a macbook which I was not entirely fond of. Pros: Touchscreen - awesome especially for a computer that runs on Windows 8. Memory is apparently expandable with another 4GB RAM which I may consider. As advertised the load time is short and you can get working very quickly. Cloth that comes with the laptop helps clean the screen really well. Speaker system is very nice so far, haven't really tried maxing it out yet though. Cons: It seems a little bit on the louder side I feel, but I don't have any other ones to compare it with so not entirely sure. Intel HD 4000. The touchpad seems a tad bit glitchy as it sometimes randomly zooms in when I wasn't even trying to. Relearning the Windows OS... On other note... On the underside of my ultrabook I was missing a single screw... It should have 10 but I only have 9 which is just a little awkward.

it's a great computer

It's hard to do an objective review, given how much I dislike the OS. As far as I can tell it's a great computer (although I've not figured out how to make the Bluetooth work - I think it has Bluetooth). It's lightweight, and the touch screen is nice, but kind of weird, if you're used to a laptop and not a notepad, as I am.

seems to good to be true

wanted a new ultrabook but could not afford 1000+ dollars. fairly technical user,and after 4 days this seems like the perfect blend of my ipad and a fast, full function, light laptop.

Solid but slightly flawed

I'm a little surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reviews... First off, the physical quality of this laptop is phenomenal. Life-long Apple users will be surprised when they handle this computer. The design and build quality is top notch - which makes the low price really special in this increasingly crowded market. There are many bugs and quirks with the Windows 8 software. I can only assume that these bugs will improve as updates are released. The overall performance is a little slow, but again, updates might help with this. The OS does have a learning curve, and not everything is as intuitive as I'd like... but in general, I'm very happy... just not completely blown away.
