The unit was delivered in a timely manner with no issue. Out of box & installed in minutes. Unit performs to spec as depicted on website. I want to play and record tapes from Sat. DVR receiver as well as play DVD. Discs played better on this unit than on previous low end DVD player. Good basic function for equitable price. It has not been used to play mp3 discs. |

I'm so pleased with this product I bought an extra one for safekeeping. It has component video output sending unbelievable video quality to my new HDTV. I have a netflix ready blue ray player from this site on another TV. This classic combo VcrDvd player is not intended for Alpha Consumers, its made for multiple tv set homes. Buy 5 of these for the price of one blue ray player. Buy one of them for the price of a blue ray disc. Great Value, easy to use. It is better than your tv if the tv cannot accept the component video connections. I paid 35bucks Thanks |

It ate the first tape I put into it. I took apart and found a previous tape eaten and not completely cleaned out. After cleaning it out, it works good enough to watch a movie but still sometimes eat the tapes still |

Plays my Bootlegged DVD's, no matter the brand. Read times on the DVD is quick and shows little lag. VHS tape quality is great. I got this for my folks, who aren't tech savvy, but wanted a DVD player, and VHS tape player, that was not complicated or hard to maintain and install. Well this puppy fits the bill perfectly. I have not tried to play MP3 discs, but my folks don't even know what those are, so this is the perfect tech for them. The fact that it does not have a tuner is perfect, my Mom always get's frustrated with that anyway. |

What is Progressive Scan?
Progressive scanning, otherwise known as 480P (p=progressive), creates a picture signal with double the scan lines of a conventional interlaced picture, 480I (I=interlaced), to create a noticeably sharper image. The 480P image offers higher
picture resolution and eliminates virtually all motion artifacts. Even on large screens, the progressive scan lines are barely noticeable and picture flickering is greatly reduced, so you can enjoy extended viewing without eye fatigue.
In order to take advantage of a progressive scan DVD player, your TV must be capable of accepting and displaying a progressive scan signal (480p).
