I bought the wrong thing
I bought this thinking it was an upgrade from a previous version of windows. My fault for not knowing exactly what I was getting. I have $50 useless package that sits on my desk now. I wanted to upgrade my wife's pc to windows 7 but guess I will have to just buy a full blown version.

Not a quick Upgrade
You must install SP1 before this will work. After several attempts to install you will be calling support to walk you through a several hour install. Works great. Just be aware of the time and update windows starter with SP1 first and you should be fine without support.

Watch the Factory Restore before Upgrade
Ran my Asus Netbook's factory restore function (I wanted a clean start), then the Anytime Upgrade followed by the SP1 update over my local network. No problems until I ran MS Backup and it said there were missing folders in Administrator's account (Well MS Backup ran without that error before I did the factory restore..oh the Administrator account is disabled now). I used the system properties control panel to copy my user profile to a new Administrator folder. Now MS Backup finish's with no error.

M...Soft Gets Even More Money
Doesn't MSoft have enough money. Windows 7 Starter is a crippled version of Windows 7. It's bad enough that we have to pay to get the real deal, to get just a card with an Upgrade Key and pay for shipping is adding insult to injury. Why not just send it to us via email?
