What a difference!

I upgraded my AMD triple core desktop from Windows XP-Pro to Windows 7 32-bit (for software comaptibility reasons) using a new hardrive and Windows Easy Transfer download. What an improvement in speed and dependability. Windows Easy Tranfer made the process super easy by saving all the files & settings to an external hardrive and then importing them onto the new system. Windows 7 just works...faster, smarter and so much easier. Should have done it years ago!

Excellent OS for my old desktop

Upgraded my 3 year old desktop to Win7 Pro. I did a clean install and everything set up properly the first time. I only had to upgrade my sound card drivers. My computer came with Vista Business, which was a horror to use, so I had reverted it back to XP. This new Win7 Pro is excellent. All my programs perform as they should, and the computer runs somewhat faster than it did on XP, and extremely faster than Vista. If you want a really good OS for an older computer, this is the one. Two items to remember: 1 Run the windows 7 upgrade assistant from MS to make sure all your programs and devices are compliant. 2 There are two versions of Win7-Pro available, 32 bit and 64 bit. Check your computer to see if it is 32 bit, or if it is capable of 64 bit operaton.

32 bit os why are they still available

WHY are 32 bit version of Windows 7 and up still available since OS are not exchangable dont make rhe mistaque I did and order 32 bit

Do you really want a 32 bit data path

when most hardware today is optimized for 64 bit? I don't know maybe it's my imagination but ever since I have been using 64 bit windows and moving or copying or searching through large directories it seems much much faster. I would never give that up for obsolete software that has a few features I might use only every now and than.

This a lot better than Vista

I done a clean install of win.7 from vista, the best move I've made. It's running great with no problems.

Installed perfectly

We installed Win 7 Pro on some industrial computers, and it took a lot less time than XP. Product works fine.

Another winner for Microsoft

I recently installed this on a pretty old PC, and it runs great. Easy to install, compatible with Office 2000 and all my old apps from a decade ago. All I replaced was my video card! It's just as fast as XP, and easy to use and configure once you get used to it.

OS that works like you expect

Very stable OS, easy and quick to install, most drivers are included in the OS. Have had NO issues at all with drivers, hardware compatibility, stability, speed, etcetera... And as usual the service, shipping, and price here are a step above all others.

No Good

Is all this program did was to screw up my computer. Every time I closed a program I would get a white screen then I had to rebut the computer to go some ware else.

Better than expected

I was very leery of Windows 7, but I had no choice - can't find XP Pro anywhere. After installing Win7 and finding the classic setup to get rid of the goofy bubblegum look I really liked it. It runs smooth and has many new features and improvements.
