Nothing but trouble to setup
I'm running a 2 year old Lenovo with XP-PRO, modem would not hook up with the inclosed cd. had to download the bare drivers from a 3rd party download site, after installing the drivers I still had to tweak it to work right with my software.

Solid Winmodem
I never thought I would be using a USB modem, because by the time I switched to OSs with good USB support, I had broadband. Work however takes me out of the way places. Pros: USB powered, compact size, reliable connection, additional utility software. Cons: No passthrough jack. Get a dual port jack if you want the phone plugged in at the same time. In Win7, drivers didn't automatically install from CD, however did install when manually specified. I didn't have connection problems, but speaker didn't work and only 2 status lights make for poor troubleshooting if I did have a problem. Haven't tested in Linux yet.

Not a bad Modem
The software was very easy to load... this modem has trouble with multiple pages... needed to send some info to buy a house and only part of the documents made it... it did work at 2400 baud rate... has trouble some times, really have to pay attention to it.. I am using XP and had no conflicks with my operating system. not a bad purchase for the money...
