Still not there!!!

You would think with Windows 8 hitting the market that Microsoft would finally have the bugs worked out of Windows 7. At least that's what I thought. Installed the upgrade over Windows Vista Ultimate after uninstalling or deactivating several incompatible program files. Still having issues with my keyboard (can't use my numers row); so I have to use on-screen keyboard to type passwords or use special characters. Was hoping for a faster system, but I don't guess that will happen without changing over to a 64 bit system, which I know my processor and motherboard will handle. I just hate that I would lose all my data.

Excellent

Excellent and very easy to use. I used it to upgrade my computer from Vista to Windows 7. Evereything went very smooth with no problems and now works perfectly. If not for the price I would install it on my second computer.

Sorry I got it

I just upgraded my system to be able to use the 64 bit. When I tried to install the 64 bit windows 7, it told me it couldn't install. I then tried to install the 32 bit windows 7 and got message after message that I would either need to update or buy new programs as they all seemed to be out of date or hadn't been approved to be used with windows 7. I ended up removing and re-installing my windows XP. Sadly because I had opened the box, I can't return it. It ended up a $199.99 lesson. I guess this would be alright if you don't build your own systems or install your own programs. When I can no longer use Windows XP, I may start using a different OS or if I don't want to have control over my system, I may buy a MAC. NA, NO WAY!!!!

Simple Upgrade

It was a snap. The advisor warned me about only one thing, the itunes. When it was all said and done, itunes worked find, discovered the ipod and everything. I even had the same mouse pointer after upgrade. The only thing it didn't do right was it swapped my dual monitors locations. No big deal. Thanks for getting it right microsoft.

Better Windows OS

Just installed this to get rid of that awful Vista which had buggered up my laptop terribly. I ended up having to do the complete install and my machine works great now. I only lost one photo program that I use infrequently but that's a small price to pay for having a laptop that actually works! I am looking forward to learning more and more each day about Windows 7.

Microsoft out did themselves! I was happy with XP but for various reasons I decided to take a chance and bypass Vista and upgrade to 7. I bought a laptop that came with Vista and I really wasn't to impressed with but Windows 7, is worth it and I am very satisfied!

First off if you have Vista this is definatly an upgrade from that. The fact that this OS does not use the memory that vista Does is nice making Os run a bit faster but its a shitty deal to have to pay that much for an upgraded version of vista. But too people that are just purchasing a new system with this os its not a bad deal although i have only been running this os a month i have had little issues with it and the compatability mode is nice(Ultimate version only) if your looking to run xp software that you could not run on vista. Over all i pleased with its performace so far and i can only hope i stay trouble free...
