Don't buy an ASUS product
I bought an ASUS tablet for my wife. Sat wrapped for several weeks. Would not turn on. Sent back for repair. Took a very long time. Worked for several weeks. Same problem. Contacted them and they said it was out of warranty - even though it was the same problem. I have a dead tablet that worked a few times. I even had an email that said they would fix it. DON'T DO IT!

Great portability
I just bought this for my daughter who is in college. She wanted to be able to take her laptop to class without breaking her back carrying it. It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but overall, this is a great laptop. This is so thin and light. And it's beautiful. Less than 3 lbs, great battery life, terrific screen (matte, 1080p), backlit keyboard (3 brightness settings + off). The aluminum body seems to act as a huge heat sink. I sat with it (while in shorts) on my lap for about 4 hours, and it was never uncomfortably warm. I was installing software, and ran it on battery only. Even with that intensive operation, there was still about 30% battery left after over 4 hours. I'm very impressed, and would recommend this to anyone considering a MacBook Air and wanting to save about $400.
