No access to tuner and speakers? This works for us. Purchased to boost our HD TV sound, this unit works well. HDTV-matching models (sleeker) are available, but this is the same with better value. It's not 7.1 Dolby, but our room is only 13 x 11 so no problem. A definite budget boost until we can reconfigure. Then it will go on the gaming computer! |

I will grant you that we are by no means audiophiles, however, if you are looking for a unit that is easy to assemble and attach to your TV and equiptment - this is it.
I purchased this product to enhance and complement our High Def TV and for the price this product has served us well. We predominantly use it when viewing movies or listening to music. Some sound systems are just too overbearing for a medium sized family room. With product we can crank the sound up but still enjoy it rather than the sound becoming 'noise pollution'.
We recommend it! |

Pros
The price is right. Easy assembly and setup. Compact and convenient. The sound is not bad. Phillips customer service rocks.
Cons
The bass range seems to low, has very little rumble or thump. The subwoofer occaisonally pops, possibly from bluetooth interference. You only catch small hints of the surround sound. Non surround sound movies have a slight slur in the attempt to make it surround. My $125 7.1 Creative PC sound system totally blows this soundbar away.
Summary
Decent convenient sound, with sub par bass, at a good price point. |
