Awesome Replacement!
I had to purchase a new hard drive after my computer crashed. This hard drive is faster and quieter than the original that came with my laptop. And the price was very good. I have yet to be disappointed.

Excellent replacement hard drive
I chose Seagate because they have a two year parts and labor warranty. As this is a replacement drive in an older Dell computer, I needed the ability to change from SATA 3.0 to 1.5 if the drive controller could not handle the newer format. This is one of the few drives that provides a dual mode with only a jumper on two pins. Also, I have never had a Seagate fail. They are always called up to replace a drive that did fail.

Excellent replacement Drive
This was purchased to replace a failed drive in my wife's laptop. Quiet and faster than the older drive. The wife is happy I was able to get her puter back up!

Get what you pay for
Less than a month and the drive had to be replace. Had to pay for shipping to return drive, not to mention the time it takes to reload and install software updates

Very Happy
I bought this hard drive to replace a failing one. I started having problems with all kinds of clicks and beeps. Found out that it needed a firmware update. Seagate did not offer the firmware update but had to get it from dell R250679.exe, created a boot disk from the iso image and used the following command after running the CD. Search the seagate forums for directions. I updated the Firmware from 0002SDM1 to 0005SDM1 and now the clicks and beeps are gone.

very upsetting
It started out a great drive then one day it would not boot. No warning at all. This is the 3rd Seagate drive that has failed on us in a year. I am not sure what they are doing but the quality of the product which we have been using for year has got down hill and fast.

WOW
I picked this HDD up for my PS3 and wow. The console formats on its own I am running the backwards compatiable console with a whopping 20 gigs. The read write speed is supposed to remain the same 5400 instead of 7200 and has obviously increased dramatically! Have always loved this brand and will be buying a 500 Gig for the laptop!
