Compatability Issue

One of the three connectors would not mate up with the mating connector on the hard drive I was hoping to use it with. That was very disappointing.

Nice Enclosure

Up and running in 30 minutes. Windows XP and Vista installed with no problems. Sony Optaric DVD burner and this enclosure is very quiet. No feet but for a couple bucks you can pickup a sheet of 12 bumpers. This will help any vibration.

Not so good

I bought this to use with a Bluray burner and opened the box to find a part used to mount the front plate broken off (screw stripped that attached it actually). After hooking it all up I found that the business cable (the power cord) was bad so I had to borrow one from something else I had. It appears to work fine now, although the front plate is a bit floppy...

performs as expected

installed a bd-r in this enclosure. i had no trouble at all installing the drive into this enclosure. supplied screwdriver is too small to apply needed torque for front face-plate, but who does this kind of thing without real tools? works wonderfully with my macintosh, for the same $$$ as it would have cost to replace the burned out internal dvd-r (with the ability to transfer it easily to my next one in a year). constructed of sturdy black-anodized aluminum (which helps to dissipate heat - in addition to the fan) with the exception of the plastic ends. i expect this enclosure to outlast the drive. downsides: 1) rounded sides preclude vertical orientation 2) power supply is external (albeit a small brick)

Missing parts

Overall the enclosure was excellent. However, the unit slides all over the place. The addition of stick-on feet would have made it perfect.

Perfect for CD DVD

Ideal for my use. Would not use for hard drive but is perfect for CD DVD drive.

Good Unit

Everything in the literature was true. The unit worked as expected. I am completely satisfied with the product and would not hesitate to purchase Sabrent products in the future.

Just As Jim Stated, No Power From Start!! I Cannot Even Take It Back Because I Had My Brother Get It While He Was At Store & He Threw Away The Reciept!! Now Stuck With This Iem That Does Not Work!!!!

Poor quality, not recommended

Pros: It does the job but required effort to fix. Cons: found a bent pin on the power cable, USB cable bad out of the box, loud fan, case off center. I wasted an hour playing with this box out of desperation to get a working DVD drive. It should have been returned.

Great enclosure

I have had this for about two months now and have been using it for my sata Pioneer DL burner. So far I have burned 10 DL discs and 30 DVD-R discs flawlessly. Fairly good product with easy installation.
