good for the money!

Ok I am no audiophile. But the sound is clear, the bass is good but not overpowering. Yes they will not make your house shake. And if you are into really hard rock they will not get loud enough. For what they are (desktop speakers) They are great. I had to set them up in my audio setup as Headphones to get the subwoofer to work correctly. Great for the money for clear and decent sound. Would definitely buy again.

The price is right

They may not rock the house down but for the price they sound great. I would suggest to anyone on a budget to buy these. Great for a small room or space.

just ok

I expected more from these speakers based on the reviews others have left. They're just alright. I'm a mechanic and I use these connected to my laptop on my toolbox while I'm working on cars. At a lower volume they are great, but the bass is weak especially at higher volume (which is what I need them at to hear them in such an open area). If I had these at home on a desk they would be alright. The mids and highs are sufficient, but the bass breaks up terribly, which is embarrassing to me when other people hear it. I wish I had bought the Logitech speakers that the guy on the other end of the shop has.

Big sound. Small money

Great sound. Well made. For the price, one of the best audio products I have purchased. Your music will sound like it should. The clarity even at high volume surprised me. BUY IT NOW, you won't regret it.

It's a speaker

It's very good for a simple 2.1 speaker set. I used these to replace my aging 'multimedia speakers'. Works almost as good as my Logitech Z4. Just no remote, but at this price, I wasn't expecting that much, anyway.

Just what I needed

I purchased these specifically for my 42 inch Plasma TV to watch TV with. They are just what I wanted. My 50 Watt Logitech speakers broke so I decided to buy Altec because I heard they were the best. These would be fabulous for a Computer or laptop and they do well for my application as speakers for my TV.

Great buy for the buck

I purchased this for the computer in the kids room (used to listen to music, play games and watch movies). Based on other reviews I read, I was worried that I was going to be disappointed, that it was not going to be loud enough (only about 10 watts), not enough base, sound a bit bad. But no, they sound great and are definitively loud enough. I don't think you can get better sounding speakers for this price, they are perfect for this application. In fact, I would not want them to have anything louder.
