SATA 1 support only
I'm fighting boot up issues that I believe will be resolved with adding jumpers to my SATA 2 drives to make them run in SATA 1 mode. Many people have reported the issue of booting past the BIOS screen because this card does not support SATA 2 during boot up. Once past the BIOS boot up screen you can plug the drives in and it will recognize them and work perfectly. Setting the drives in SATA 1 mode(jumper) is supposed to resolve this issue.

The easy way out
This product made it very easy to add 4 more Western Digital 300GB 10000rpm Velociraptors to my system. Installed the drives in a HDD case at the bottom of my ThermalTake Level 10 case. Before final installation ran test to make sure the new HDD configuration did not cause airflow issue that would lead to overheating.

Best functionality for your buck!
I was looking for a basic expansion card to just act as a media server. My motherboard would hold 3 HDD + DVD, but I needed more drives and space. Plugged 4 2TB drives into the card, loaded drivers on provided miniCD, reboot and all 4 drives came up instantly as individual drive letters. Fast directory access and better than expected transfer speed. VERY satisfied.

Worthless Card
I didn't realize you needed 2 SATA drives to get this to work so now I can't use it.

Not The Fastest SATA Out There
Works great with Linux and Windows 7 64bit. Not the fastest card out there, but stable under either OS. Have had good luck with these in low end servers with variety of inexpensive drives under several Linux flavors.

don't
Ever heard the saying too poor to afford cheap stuff? -- This is the stuff and you can't afford it. It'll work until one day you notice your drive's not there and a TB of family pix etc. are gone. The gui shows a pink rectangle and a grey rectangle, and all menu items including help are greyed out. The 2 available ones are info (drives are healthy) and create raid group (destroying all data). And the FAQ on the website says we make chips, we no make cards, no ask us okay?

Does the job
Bought this card 3 months ago because mainboard raid wouldn't work. Installed this card in a Windows Home Server, which didn't automatically recognize the card. Installed the drivers and the card worked flawlessly using raid 1. Haven't tried any other raid configurations yet.

Great item at a great price
I installed this, having never used one before, not knowing what to expect. To my surprise, it is up and running with no problem. Not to mention that my computer is running much more smoothly with my new larger hard drive attached to this card. Thanks!
