XCELLENT !!!
Out of the box and preinstalled with the most common softwares... laptop does run hot but not a lot... features are great but the touch sensitive multimedia keys are a little problematic i mean u have to press them real hard... apart from that great machine competeing machines double the price... I would highly recommend it...

DO NOT BUY A GATEWAY!
Computer sucks. Had it less than 5 weeks and it crashed. Technical support is non-existant at Gateway - hard to reach anyone. WE have to pay to send it in for repair even though it's crashed after only 5 weeks and recovery disks didn't work. DO NOT BUY A GATEWAY!

Great Deal!
This is not an ultra high-end laptop, but for the price, it is an amazing machine and a fabulous price. Processor speed is good (not great), its got a very large hard drive, excellent video and tons of memory. After 3 months of usage, my only complaint is with the battery, which is mediocre at best (mas 2 hours usage). However, as I have it plugged in 99.9% of the time, this is not a big deal for me. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone who is looking for an everyday laptop for use around the house.

Runs hot. Fan is terrible
Terrible laptop.Fan constantly turns on and off, on and off. In other words, its revs up for about two secs and revs down, over and over and over. Even while sitting idle. Overheats and shuts down if you are doing anything utilizing the graphics. Like watching a streaming movie, or playing a non graphic intensive game. Basically the fan does not vent the system properly. It has done this since I pulled it out of the box. Customer service is absolutely atrocious. They only refer me to their paid for trouble shooting service. I refuse to pay for something that is obviously a poorly crafted laptop with a horrible fan. I will never buy another system from this manufacturer.

Gateway M Series
Battery life is poor, even under the power saver plan. Overall, quick performance and pretty crisp screen. I'm happy with this laptop for price.
